Okay, well, this fic broke me. It was a long and twisting and gasping kind of death, but oh. So worth it.

freedom's just another for word for nothing left to lose by [ profile] synecdochic.

Fuck me. In every fandom, there is always a small handful of fics that, once you're done with them, make you feel like you've been run over by a slow but thorough bulldozer. And I mean that as a very high compliment. It's not an easy fic to read, but boy, it is fucking worth it. Is it ever worth it. Oh, Rodney. Rodney, Rodney, Rodney.

*goes off into a corner to cry for a while longer*

And then I'll be back to talk about the new SGA episode, after more people have had a chance to watch it, so I can, you know, talk to them about it.

You know how I love a good AU? Well. Uh.

String Theory, a Concerto for Violin in D Minor by [ profile] toft_froggy.

It's SGA, and Rodney is a composer/conductor, and John is a violinist. This is...writing. This is astonishing. I could almost hear it as music, it was so beautiful. It pulls you in very deceptively, and then you're inside it, and you don't know what to do. The writing is lyrical and sharp and precise and it flows and it's simply gorgeous. I have very few words left after leaving feedback, but really. I'm sure everybody but me has already read it, but I thought it worth a mention, anyway. Oh, man. What a wonderful way to start the day.

Excerpt. )

So, um, I guess the subject line should end with " me!"

Mmmmm. Beautiful.
