Dork-land.
So, I am a total dork, because I was SO prepared for my Ecology exam, I was actually EXCITED as I was going in, and I couldn't wait for them to hand out the exams so I could write all of it down. What a big DORK, but it was fun, because I am 95% sure I got an A. Of course, knowing my luck, I fucked up somewhere, somehow, but I won't think about that just yet and hope for the best.
Of course, my hardest exam is yet to come, but not for another 29 and a half hours, so I can relax just a little bit.
I apologize for not responding to any comments/entries lately. I've been really busy, and it sucks, and I feel completely disconnected from any goings-on.
Speaking of those, my bank fiasco is over. If anybody cares, what happened was, last Friday, I got a reimbursement check from a loan, for...a very significant amount of money. Like Jo said: "you have a COMMA in your bank account!" So, I was excited. In fact, I was SO excited, I went and bought Sam a book and a CD for myself, and then we went shopping for food, and feeling generous, I paid for it all. I was left with 7 dollars in my checking account. Well, I thought, I'd get my check cleared on Monday, it'll be totally fine, we've got food, what else do I need this weekend?
On Monday, I went to check my balance online and had a temporary moment of insanity. I could not, for the life of me, remember the order in which the numbers of my pin went. Like the true idiot that I am, I kept trying and trying, until I got myself locked out of my account completely. Now not only did I not know if my check had cleared, I couldn't get to my money AT ALL. I couldn't go to the bank to get it straightened out, either, because Mondays are my busiest days, and from 10:40am to 9:00pm, I have only an hour and twenty minute break altogether. On top of which, I had to study for numerous tests.
I was poor, I was without my pin number, and I was really really stressed.
Come yesterday, I still hadn't studied for any exams, and still had to go to the bank. After my second class of the day, and closely approaching a nervous breakdown due to various and numerous reasons, I went to the bank.
"They'll need to send you a new card."
"Wait, do you know your pin number now?" (The answer, by the way, is "yes" because I remembered it immediately after being locked out, the poo-head that I am.)
"You can withdraw some money now, you can just write a check to yourself."
"I'm sorry, I can't give you any money, because you have no money on your account."
"No, the check will probably clear in a couple of days."
All this, and I didn't have enough to buy myself a bagel, and I hadn't had anything to eat, and didn't foresee any food on the horizon until I got home after 8 o'clock that night.
Then, a light dawned, as I found out that I'd only locked myself out for 24 hours. Great, my card worked once again, no need to get a new one. However, the problem was...I still only had 7 dollars to my name.
I went back to school, had a nervous breakdown, searched my entire bag for change, and through Sam's help (who was also poor) I managed to get a bagel and a coffee.
So, for about four days I was completely penniless, waiting to "inherit" my little fortune. The moral of this story is...WAIT FOR YOUR CHECK TO CLEAR, DUMBASS.
Anyway.
Today is a much, much better day. I'm getting fun emails, I'm done with a third of my exams, and I have no work to go to. Tralalalalalala... Ah, no work. What a blessed, blessed thing.

miraminx - I finished your story on Monday, and I all have to say for now is...a jaw-dropping WOW. I will have much, much more to say later on, after my tests, most likely, but this was simply astounding. I haven't read a story that good in a very, very long time. Just...wow. You also touched something that I live for in fiction, and that is the changes that characters go through and how they manage to get closer without much effort on the part of the author. So many times it happens through manipulation, but here...here they were just there, growing and learning and...I really have no words. But I will try to later on. You deserve every piece of wonderful feedback that you get and more.
And that's all the news that's fit to print. I'm just looking forward to this Saturday night, which will involve me, Jo, alcohol and lots of drag queens. Oh, blessed, blessed vacation...
