“Heropsychodreamer” – Umm, it’s the title of a Live song, and I used the lyrics from it, and I thought it fit both the characters as the story progressed, so…there you have it.
“A Grim Is Born” – Ten points for anybody who HASN’T guessed that this is a take-off on “A Star is Born.” You can all hate me now for making you think of Barbra Streisand. I can take it.
“Breaking the Routine” – Well, there’s a routine, and then it gets broken, and I have this tendency to come up with dumb titles that can still sort of pass for original, but only take me ten seconds, and then I feel like I’ve accomplished something.
“Mint” – Ditto. I had absolutely no clue what the hell to call this story, so I remembered the mint that Sirius used, and well, it’s a brand new relationship, and…ah, hell. It’s just stupid. I’m woman enough to admit it.
“Mad” – I actually like this one. It’s Sirius after Azkaban – what the hell else could I call it? Plus, there were the lyrics that I used in it, so they add another meaning to the ‘crazy’ and ‘pissed off’ angles.
“Treacherous” – Since this was written as a companion piece to “Mad” I thought it needed another one-word title. The first title was about Sirius, so is this, but also about Remus and his state of mind at the time. So, I like this one too…
“Life Lesson #38” - Well, it was a lesson – don’t try to move in between two boys, you silly girl! And Amanda is somebody that I see moving through life and acquiring lessons, just out of curiosity. Why #38? No idea. Sounded like a good number for a 17 year old.
“Revenge, By Any Other Name…” – Another take on a famous line. And, smut or no smut, Sirius revenged himself pretty well. He didn’t even let Remus get off. That’s just fucking cruel.
“A Prayer to Unbelief” – This is a line from a poem by Dana Gioia that begins with “This is a prayer to unbelief…” The poem that I used in the beginning is also his, though a different one. It fit the mood and idea of the story really well, and it was just a beautiful poem. They both were.
“Go Down Laughing” – Well. That one came out of the blue, as I was writing the story. It does have a bit of a sexual connotation to it, but I liked it and decided to keep it. I don’t know. It’s the sort of strange optimism that you have to have in the situation that the Marauders had found themselves in at the end of their Hogwarts days. Err…at least according to me…
“Choosing Your Own” – Another “out of nowhere” title. Kinda cheesy, too, but I couldn’t think of another one, and it was so easy to just succumb to the ‘ten second’ rule than think of anything highly new and original.
“Red Handed” – Ahahahahahahaha… Ok, so, the torn fabric showing Sirius’s nipple? Anybody who DIDN’T catch the Doyler reference? Didn’t think so. And, of course, what was ripped from his shirt? A red-hand badge. And Sirius and Remus were caught ‘red handed’ and that’s really a cover for a total ‘ASTB’ homage. As I prefer to think of it…
“Not a Cherry On Top” – I was actually sadly impressed with my cleverness. Remus was not a virgin. They used whipped cream. But there were no cherries involved. And I’m always asking people to do something (online) by begging with a Remus and a cherry on top, so it just came to me in ten seconds and I went with it…
