Waltzing Matilda

I actually spent most of the day away from the computer. In fact! It was...dun-dun-dun! - out of the house. Late last night I got a call from a friend that I didn't get to see last weekend because she was out of town at her brother's wedding, but she was going through Boston, and so we met up today. And it was good. Of course.

I got a haircut. Again.

We watched "Like Water for Chocolate" on Bravo today. I liked it, but I was ready to spear the mother by the end of it. "DIE BITCH, DIE!! Even if you're ALREADY DEAD, DIE AGAIN MORE PAINFULLY!!" Seriously. With a mother like that, who the hell needs Bush?! Although the ending - worthy of Gabriel Garcia Marquez - confused and saddened me, and the main love interest was a dumb dipshit. But other than that, I liked it. (Especially the naked chick running through the field. That was particularly nice.)

I found out that my old high school has deteriorated greatly, the number of fights has gone through the roof (and it used to be pretty fucking low), and a lot more racism is getting to the surface. This is suprising, seeing as how when I went there, it was one of the most granola-ist places ever, and racism was not only condemned, it rarely showed its face ever, as far as I remember. This just further proves that the 90's really are over, and that our kindly leader has helped bring about regression in full force, bringing out the mindless bigotry in so many of our young and hopeful future leaders.

Bah. I need to go to sleep until I get angry again.

*grumbles off*

i know, sweetie. i can't understand why people still support this nimrod of a president when, clearly, one of the few things he's been successful at is dividing people: you either love him or you detest him. not to slam bush supporters (some of the people i love the most in this world thinks he's wonderful) but WTF. this division can't be good, no matter where your alliances lay. if diversion is hitting a granola-loving town like ithaca, what does that say about the rest of the country?

it's just so sad. *sigh* (and i'm not helping your despair much, am i? ;-))

you got your hair cut AGAIN?!! is there anything left?

Gah. Just gah. *HUGS*

I'm glad you got to see the oldbie - and the naked chick running through the field, LOL - and I want pictures of the new hair. :)

*hugs more*

I'm sorry, sweetie. It's so hard to see things changing for the worst...

Yeah. It is. I just don't understand how so many people are not noticing it, because it's everywhere. It's on TV, it's on the radio, it's all over the fucking place. It needs to end, but there's nobody willing to stand up and actually change it. And if there is, sadly, very few are listening.

*HUGS*

I don't have a camera, but maybe sometime soon I'll be able to take a picture. It ain't that exciting. ;)

*HUGSSSSSSSSS*

Love you!

I can't understand it, either. He stands for such awful, mind-boggling things. He even manages to make Christianity look worse than it is, and that's saying something. He doesn't seem to understand the fundamentals this country is based on, and he is just... I don't know. I just don't like him. I just DON'T. Things are going downhill and FAST and we need to get him out of the office as quickly as we possibly can. He is a terrible president. God knows what he'll do in another four years. I don't want to find out.

if diversion is hitting a granola-loving town like ithaca, what does that say about the rest of the country?

Precisely! It's unbelievable! I was so surprised to hear that, I mean, when I was there, two girls could go around holding hands, and nobody would lift an eyebrow. Now - racial slurs? Fights? God. What a nightmare.

*sigh*

And don't worry, there's still some hair left. I haven't quite lost my mind. ;)
