Souiz nerushimy respublik svobodnyh...

Oh, I just adore [livejournal.com profile] alpheratz.

Look, my childhood, come alive on LJ!

Happy Soviet Labor Day! Heee.

Mir, Trud, Mai. And stuff. I'm still giggling. My dad woke up this morning and asked my mom and I when we're going to the demonstration. Alas, no demonstrations here. It used to be such an event, I even dreamed about it about a week ago, pre-emptively. I woke up thinking "must not be late to the demonstration!" It actually made me sad that there wasn't one.

Wow, Communist rearing, what?

Ha! I've never been to a May First parade. Oh, the peculiarities of being born mid-Perestroika. And my dad says he hasn't been there since they made him go when he was in his first year of university. :D:D:D

Really? Actually, some of my fondest childhood memories are from those demonstrations. I was too young to understand, but I loved everybody getting dressed up in Spring clothes and the sunshine and the huge crepe paper flowers and the bright flags. For a kid, it was the best. *g*

Да здраствует indeed!

And you wore those big, pouffy white pom-poms in your hair on the first day of school, didn't you? ;-)

(Why am I not the least surprised there would be few, if any demonstrations down in the States?)
