On Mother Nature, Curious Boyfriends, and Psycho- I mean, psychics.
So, Mother Nature really sucks sometimes. It especially sucks when it ambushes you, with no warning, when you're ill-prepared. Argh. Damn that full moon.
But not really, because it's, you know, the full moon.
Had a lovely long conversation with Sam this morning - he called because he couldn't sleep, and it was already eight my time. I don't know if it's the distance, or the realization that this may be even better than we could have originally predicted, but...I feel at peace with him. Like I'd never felt before. And I have a really hard time telling him this, because I generally have a hard time saying these things. I wish I could just tell him. I try to. I think he knows. In any case, it's making me happy, and I think my entire day will be better because we talked. Because we CAN talk. Even though not the whole conversation was entirely happy, but that's life. It just has this tendency to creep up on you, when you least want it to.
Ah, and this is, um, lovely...
Sam: So, I went on the Sugar Quill yesterday.
Me: Oh, haha, very funny. What was the URL?
Sam: sugarquill.net
Me: Damn. Why?!
Sam: I didn't understand a thing there. None of it made sense, it was really weird.
Me: *relieved* That's because you haven't read the books, obviously.
Sam: There was something weird called... WANE? WAIT?..
Me:L *trying not to laugh* W.A.I.L.
Sam: Yeah! Yeah, that was it. I didn't understand it, so I just left. I WILL find you eventually, you know.
Me: *gasp* No! No, you promised me you wouldn't go looking for me online! Please!
Sam: I did? When?
Me: This summer, after I told you! You said that you wouldn't, even though you could. You promised.
Sam: Damn. *pause* Are you lying to me?
Me: NO! I swear to God, you promised.
Sam: *resigned* Oh, fine, fine... *sigh*
Yeah, buster. I don't think so. At any rate, he's not allowed to read any of my stuff till he's gotten through the books. So, ha. He whines about it, too. Mwahahahahahahaa...
Never understimate the power of a promise.
And now for something completely different...
I think I may be psychic. No, really. Not in that stupid call-a-hotline-and-I'll-tell-you-your-future-for-lots-and-lots-of-money way, but in that whoa-how-the-hell-did-THAT-happen way? And it's not something I fully believe in, anyway, so it's just...odd. Some things that happen make me wonder. It's sort of...this...telepathic energy thing? I don't know. I'm probably sounding like a complete psycho right now, and I will understand and you all just inch away from your computer screens, slightly frightened.
But hear me out.
Once, I was listening to the radio (this was three years ago now). There was a pause between songs, and I just had this flash of a Led Zeppelin song in my mind, just for no reason at all. When the next song came on, it was that very song. (And it wasn't one that they played that often, either.) Another time, that same year, I guessed somebody's birthday. We were walking from school (oh, wow, high school memory...) and I said that, surprisingly, I didn't know her birthday (she was a good friend). She said: "Guess!" I looked at her said: "Well, I think you look like March." "March what?" "Sixteenth, I think. March 16th." And I was right.
There have been other instances where things that I thought about happened a second later. It happened again yesterday, when Robin called me just as I was thinking of her calling me.
I know this is all probably a bunch of coincidences that mean nothing, but it's pretty cool. There was something else that made me wonder, but now I can't recall it just now. I think it's being able to guess what somebody's thinking or feeling correctly.
So, not psychic - just...something odd. I don't know.
I think this is my psycho post for the month. I apologize.

Question on LoTR:
So, waitaminute, is Galadriel - Arwen's mother?! I'm confused! And what would that make Elrond? Whoa. Somebody please explain! (And I know that there are at least four of you here that can.)
So, I finally got to the "White Rider" chapter of TTT yesterday, and was very very happy. Ah, Gandalf... And Pippin and Merry are adorable. I really think the hobbits are my favorite characters in these book. They're just...words cannot describe the sheer cuteness of it all. And Sam. *sigh* Sam. "Of course you are. And I'm coming with you."

stereo_m - We rock. Email me when you have the, er, thing up. I'm so excited, I can hardly sit still.
soupytwist - I have decided that you are SO coming here on the weekend of June 21. I am not taking 'no' for an answer. And that's that. :-P
cabari - where are you now?! What has happened? I wonder if you've gotten to my favorite MacEmm moment yet... wheeeee! Man, I wish we could talk. But we will. Especially after you finish It.
Parting thought: I like slash.
Good day.

As for being a psychic, if that kind of thing happens with alarming frequent regularity, you too may have the gift of foresight.
Galadriel is Arwen's grandmother. Galadriel is of course married to Celeborn (Lord of Lothlorien), and they had a daughther named Celebrian. She wedded Elrond, and those two had three children, Elladan, Elrohir, and Arwen. Elladan and Elrohir are the two sons in that family. So, no big surprise when Elrond looks dour when Galadriel does her thing in the movie - who wouldn't be when dealing with his or her mother in law? Heh.
Me like slash too. Esp. when hungover like I am now. Hehe.

::hugs:: I hope you are doing well! And tell Sam to read those books--he doesn't know what he is missing, the silly boy!!

And while I'd be inclined to put weird things like that down to coincidence, they are pretty damn cool coincidences. :)
Oh yeah, and I was thinking the whole weekend would be fun. :D

And I hope this makes it a little less confusing...I'm going to try to make a family tree, here. *feels hobbity*

I could make it bigger, but gah. This is the important stuff you needed, it won't fit, and the rest of it is mostly just concerned with The Silmarillion, anyway, of which you haven't heard of yet. (Aside from maybe the song about Luthien Tinuviel and Beren One-Handed in FoTR)

SOOOO. I'll go take a shower, DRAW it for you, scan it, and yeah.

And so, Galadriel is Arwen's Grandmother, and poor Elrond's Mother in Law.

You're Russian in that quiz? Well, that makes you the same Eurpoean as
As for the psychic thing, I don't think you're weird. I have these dreams. They're short, jsut a scene, a thought, and a bit of dialogue. And I forget all about them untilt hey actually happen. It's scary.
So yeah, we're psychic together.

Ah-HA! Gotcha. Thank you! :D

Yep. Really not surprising, considering that I really *am* Russian, and she was a Russian major. ;)
So yeah, we're psychic together.
We're both Trelawney. That's a frightening thought...mwahahahaha...
Re:
She loved the movie though, much more than ForR. I'll wear her down. Even if I have to trap her in my car someday and make her listen to the books on cd while we're driving!
How very Slytherin of me....
