On random shit.
So, some of you already know this. I wrote to Jamie O'Neill today. I sent him my illustration. I...actually clicked the "send" button and it actually got sent. To Jamie O'Neill. To JAMIE FRIGGIN' O'NEILL.
I am almost hyperventilating.
But it will be ok. I am now hoping that it won't get lost in the Inbox O' Praise, and that my picture reaches him. Even IF I said I was in love with MacMurrough. *smacks head*
I also made a new icon today (well, two actually, and slightly changed the Wilde one) because I was - and still am - procrastinating like there's no tomorrow. But I know that I'll be fine. So, now I keep staring at it. Because it's a HIPBONE. A hipbone. Mmmmm...hipbone...
So, I have finished LoTR. All of it. I want to marry both Merry and Pip. I adore them more than I ever thought possible.
So, I cried. Of course. Especially when Merry and Pip rode up and Pip was crying and laughing and just...aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
But, no, I must go further back.
Holy shit, The Love. I don't care if Sam has a thousand more babies, he still loves Frodo more, just because of the sheer magnitute of what they had gone through. He carried him up a mountain. He CARRIED HIM UP A MOUNTAIN! That is the sort of bond that can never be broken - through hell and back, man. Just...wow.
Change of subject: don't like the whole Faramir and Eowyn romance thing. Sorry. It's too quick, and WHY must she be domesticated?! She kicked ASS in the battle, why does she so easily agree to never fight again? Huh, huh? I don't get it. And I don't buy it.
What else, what else... Well, basically, I loved it. It was wonderful. And Samwise is amazing. What a wonderful brave little hobbit. They're ALL wonderful. You could really tell how much they'd grown and matured when they came back to the Shire and fixed it all in just, like, two days. It's amazing. They didn't take shit from anybody, and won.
They RULE.
I hope that your was wonderful! Still sending birthday wishes your way. :)
And that is all, folks. Am tired. Even though did shit today. But I got some stuff done that needed to be done, so it wasn't a total loss.
Night.

(And I'm still confident the Jamie O'Neill thing will be fine. I'd be surprised if he gets that many fanletters (his kind of book doesn't sell that well even if critically lauded) and he'll love the pic and will almost definitely understand what you mean about MacEm. He seems the type that would. *hugs*)

I rather liked the Faramir/Eowyn romance :) Possibly because it was the only canon one that seemed really believable to me. I mean, if you read the Apprendices, then Aragorn/Arwen makes more sense. But just from the story? She shows up, they get married. Faramir and Eowyn...well, at least you see them TALKING.
You know, I never really saw it as Eowyn becoming "domesticated"...just kind of lettin go of all that anger she had inside her. I mean, the poor thing was miserable! I read it as she was just kind of letting go.
Still, I'd love to see her pick up a sword again ;)

I share your feelings, darling. That's probably the only thing I really hate from the books. One day she's a warrior the other she's willing to darn his old socks *grrrr*
OH the illustration, I'm sure he'll like it.
Your new icon! Oh! I wish you knew Spanish because I have a lot of words to express my feelings about it *grins*

Yeah, I know. *sigh*

Oh, that's all right! I'm sure I feel the exact same way about it. ;) Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............................

Yeah, but they still don't know each other that well. While with Aragorn and Arwen you realize that there was something there, and that obviously, they'd known each other for a WHILE. But eh. It's not the most important part of the books anyway, and YES, the ending was glorious!
Still, I'd love to see her pick up a sword again ;)
Hehe, yes! I can see it as letting go, but it just...doesn't sit well with me. I dunno.
Anyway, yes, the books were wonderful! And AH, Merry and Pip! ;)

And I hope you're right and that he DOES appreciate it. I've been checking my email obsessively. It's gotta stop...
