Project Runway finale THOUGHTS.

Okay, so Carol Hannah was kind of my FAVORITE throughout the whole thing, so I'm pissed.

Irina and Althea were such horrible CUNTS at the very end, I just wanted them to choke. Is that mean? But yes, technically, Irina was ALWAYS a shoe-in, she was ALWAYS SO GOOD, and her collection ROCKED and yes, she deserves to have won.

Althea just - didn't have a personality. Until the last five episodes. Where she became horrible.

And Carol Hannah is SERIOUSLY the most level-headed and gracious contestant they have EVER had. She's always NICE. And GENUINE. And she never had to screw anybody over to get to where she got. AND she fought through a STOMACH VIRUS or whatever to actually DO it, and she pulled off her 13th look SO WELL, so - you know. She is my favorite.

But, okay, it's totally true. Irina DID make the best collection, so - my hat's off to her. She is REALLY good.

But, aww. Carol Hannah. Well, I heart you, okay? Okay.

Rereading this, I sound like a crazy person. Uhm. HI INTERNETS. It's FRIDAY. \o/

I hate that Irina was rewarded for horrible behavior. I mean. Really? REALLY? And I liked Carol Hannah's collection, maybe even a little better than Irina's (sooooooo much black. I just. GOD. It felt like a fucking funeral. A fucking gothic equestrian funeral. THE HATS). And, yeah, like you said, she was so NICE and gracious and other people actually LIKED her (I thought the thing with Logan was pretty cute, even though I never saw the attraction to him). But I guess its not about who is the nicest, it's about who has the best collection (or, more accurately, who has a good collection and the best tits. Irina's are kind of great).

But, wasn't watching Tim all bitchy worth it a little?

Seriously, Carol Hannah got frigging robbed. That dress with all the loopy fabric on the bottom? That kind of parted? AMAZING. If she had a more cohesive narrative, she would have had it in the bag.

Oh, I KNOW. She's HORRIBLE! But, to give the judges their due, they didn't seem to take their personalities into consideration at all, they ONLY talked about the collections. Which is fair. And I thought that, if we're speaking technically, Irina had a STRONGER collection, more mature, but Carol Hannah's was PRETTIER, DAMMIT. Yes, Irina was more innovative, and I get that (even though I generally don't get these things at all) but Carol Hannah's was PRETTY. Did I mention that? And I thought Althea's actually sucked big fat hair donkey balls, so.

But Yes, the thing with Logan! ADORABLE. How cute was that? And Althea STOLE HIM AWAY. That put the final nail on the coffin of Althea for me, I gotta say. Bah. But he comforted her! D'AWWWWWW! ♥

OMG TIM BEING BITCHY. DUDE. THAT MADE MY DAY. He was just - AT THE END OF HIS VERY STYLISH ROPE, ALLI. He was kicking ass and taking names, goshdarnit! ♥

Yay! More like-minded people! WIN. (I feel like I spent this season in a vacuum, I literally have NO IDEA what people think/thought of the contestants, or anything else. It's a little odd not to be plugged in! :P)

(OMG, Irina was HORRIBLE. And Althea was almost worse - at least Irina never pretended to be your best friend, you know?)

CANADIAN Project Runway! It is like the regular one but more adorable. Seriously I am beginning to think that Canada is just the cutest country ever. Season one was ok, but season 2.... nnnngh, Sunny Fong is AMAZING. Canadian Tim Gunn is kind of annoying but Canadian Heidi is MOTHERFUCKING IMAN.

Ugh. OKay, this has NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING to do with you. It's just general frustration with fashion from a pedestrian outsider who knows a little and whose bff is a designer. BUT. There was nothing at ALL innovative about Irina's collection. NOTHING. People have been putting black "warrior" esque women's wear down the runway forEVER. Agatha de la Prada is innovative (and CRAZY). Alexander McQueen can be innovative (though sometimes he is a pale imitation of himself). Viktor & Rolf are innovative (and HOT TO DEATH. Seriously. Look at this collection and the play with shape and volume. Amazing). Rodarte is innovative (and kind of scary).

Having all that exist in what is a relatively small world of fashion, how can you call the same old tired-ass black leather leggings and corsets innovative (and again, NOT directed at you). I mean I will grant you it was MORE innovative than Althea (though, from what I can tell, she was doing more sportswear than high fashion or whatever, so there's a reason her stuff was a little safer and more mainstream), but I honestly thought Carol Hannah did a better job of at least TRYING to do something new.

The only final runway collection I have ever really loved on this show was Jay McCarrol's from season 1. There was this amazing sense of color and style, and this JOY to the clothes, but also this sophistication. I feel like using all black is kind of a cheap way to make a collection look more sophisticated than it is, because color is kind of hard. We're hardwired to think that black=sophistication, and so when we see all black marching down the runway we think it looks better than it maybe does.

ARGH. I'm sorry, clearly I take my stupid fashion show more seriously than I should.

(okay, and yes I understand that those designers I mentioned have, usually, a LOT more time and money to spend on their collections, but there is something to be said about pure creativity and originality, whether you have $9,000 or a billion dollars. WHY AM I TAKING THIS SO SERIOUSLY LIZ I AM SORRY).

I do love how Irina tried to be a total douche about everything Althea did. Guess what? OTHER SWEATERS HAVE BEEN MADE, EVER. One of the blogs I read said, "Irina at one point looked over and saw Althea working fast, and thought, Um, *I* am working fast! She stole that!"

I love Carol Hannah, and I thought Althea was nice to put an ice pack on her neck. While I like tension and drama on ProjRun, it came too late in this season, and it was annoyingly misdirected. I await season 6!
