Yay!

Ok, this is silly, but I'm happy right now, so I thought I'd share. I just wrote a little story. For the Fuh-Q Fest. Yay. It's probably crap, but right now I kinda like it. It's only six pages, but eh. It's more than I thought I could do.

So, yay. I have to wait till my wonderful beta-reader gets back, and send it to her. But yay.

And, this a random question - I've had quite a few people friend me lately, which surprises me, and I was just wondering why. You don't have to answer, but I'm all curious. Heh. And vain, yes.

And I'm still so damn excited I got to talk to Moa. It had been forever, and that is just wrong, man! love you, sweetie.

[identity profile] stereo-m.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. :D Good. Writing, I mean. Is good. I did what I was supposed to do instead of talking to you. ;)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
hehehehe... yeah. that tends to happen, doesn't it? Wait, wasn't I going to do something? What? Moa's online? I was going to DO something?! Heh.

Hope you weren't late returning the film!

mwah :)

WooHoo!!

Very, very glad to hear that you are writing. I will admit that I was a little afraid that you would not want to do it. I feared that it would take you longer to get over the sadness and anger of the damn book enough to want to play with our puppies again. but now I am all smiley.

We all know your story's not crap. I am absolutely sure that your James will be one hell of a lot better and deeper than JKR's was. no doubt at all.

And people are friending you because you are fabulous. it really is that simple.

Love and Grapefruit,
Jo

:D

You know, I feared it, too. I'm glad of this challenge - it gave me something to work with, you know?

I am absolutely sure that your James will be one hell of a lot better and deeper than JKR's was. no doubt at all.

I hope I did him justice. I had to incorporate everything that we've heard about him - and I mean, everything - and somehow work it in a way that might work... Hope it worked...

I miss you. I should call! Ha. Easy enough solution. ;)

love and more love

*nasaly voice* Stop it, you're making me blush!

Hehe... I hope this thing lives to your expectations! Might be difficult. Trust me, it's not that amazing. But it's good to know that people have faith in me. :)

And stop apologizing!!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!

I love you very much, too!

::waves:: Hello. I'm Maud. I friended you because [livejournal.com profile] mombi_of_oz told me you met Jamie O'Neill. Once I read a few of your entries I realized that you're the one [livejournal.com profile] stereo_m is always talking about, and that I'd read some of your S/R at ff.net and RS.org.

Er. I'm not a stalker.

::flees::

*waves back* Hi Maud!

I friended you because mombi_of_oz told me you met Jamie O'Neill.

*cracks up* Got it. You have no idea how much that made me laugh.

Er. I'm not a stalker.

Takes one to know one. ;) Welcome!

Hi! [livejournal.com profile] magoo42 recommended that I check out your LJ, as she insists I'm your Gryffindor Tower twin. From the looks of it, she's not too far off-base . . . I am obsessed with At Swim, Two Boys to the point that all of my friends are sick of hearing about it (it doesn't help that I am trying to make ALL of them read it) . . . I've even gone so far as to make an ASTB wallpaper (http://bellsouthpwp.net/t/o/torihans/astbwp.jpg), which has not left my desktop in . . . well, a long time.

I'm also a very, very, very rabid R/S shipper and get a lot of my fic from the Howl Kingdom (I love it--saves me the trouble of wading through the poorly-written stuff). I write a bit, too, but most of my fic isn't archived--just on a folder on my desktop for my own personal amusement (and that of a few friends).

Anyway, from what I've seen I think you're pretty darn cool. Mind if I join the throngs of people that have friended you lately? ;)

Tori

*looks at interests* *looks at wallpaper* *wants to ask mother if she'd given birth to another daughter*

O.o

Um, hi. I worshi like "At Swim, Two Boys". I howl for like R/S. I have read 'Anthem', 'Atlas Shrugged' and 'The Fountainhead', though with mixed feelings. Errr... hi.

Welcome to my friends list!

[identity profile] immovablemover.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Welcome to my friends list!

Likewise!

Just have to tell you you're even cooler than I thought if you've read Atlas, Fountainhead, and Anthen . . . mixed feelings or not. Most people have never even HEARD of Ayn Rand.

*wants to ask mother if she'd given birth to another daughter*

That SERIOUSLY might be a good idea. . . . XD

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Most people have never even HEARD of Ayn Rand.

I guess that is true. Yes. :)

hehehe...

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations on your story. That's great! Roche is holding onto one of my stories, too, so the poor woman will be confronted with a pile of work when she gets back. Er. Not to suggest that your story will actually cause her to *work*. I'm sure it's not "crap". Sheesh. Anyway! Moving on!

I friended you, lo these many months ago, because I think of you as a friend. How's that for sappy?

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, man, she will. Ok, maybe I'll wait. Heh. But I'm so glad you've written another one! Is it for the Fuh-Q-Fest, too? Are you still considering not writing after that? That would suck, even though I'd understand. And thank you for your confidence. It's just a bit weird, that's all, this story. Well, anyway...

How's that for sappy?

That's not sappy! It makes me happy! Hehe. I think of you as a friend, too. So, sap returned in due order. *g*

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No no no, send it to her. That's what she gets for gallivanting off like that.

It's just a bit weird, that's all, this story.

That's very tantalizing. Now I'm even more anticipatory.

The thing Roche has is an experiment, so it may never see the light of day. Time will tell.

Unrelated: I saw your response to my first post and thought, "what is she doing up so LATE? It's got to be 4 am there!" And then I realized that you're not in England any more. *insert sad face here* On the other hand, you're in one of my favorite cities, so I don't feel too badly for you.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what she gets for gallivanting off like that.

Oh, to see her face if she ever reads this! I cackle at her. Sure, she deserves the vacation, but WE get to miss her! Hmph.

That's very tantalizing. Now I'm even more anticipatory.

Oh, that's bad. I didn't mean to tantalize. I meant to put off, you see. It's not so much 'different' as 'boring'. But we'll see. And I certainly hope we get to see that experiment! I'm sure it's better than you think. Sounds familiar, right?

And I still think in England time, actually. It's weird. I had a rhythm of checking email and all that, and it was all based in England time. Now it's all out of whack and annoying. It's messing me up.

Do you mean Boston? Yeah, it's growing on me. NYC is still my favorite place in the States, though...

(And you're welcome!)

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Boston. I love and miss it. It's a great city to be twenty-something in because of all the universities, cultural life, great stores, music scene... Not to mention the fried clams.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, when I get more money, I will have to try those fried clams. Any recommendations?

See, I really like Boston. Unfortunately, it's been tainted for me due to two reasons:

1) my first ever trip there was the worst trip I had ever taken, and being 13, I was even more melodramatic than I am now, and that's fucking frightening

2) my parents moved there during a bad time and I had to leave all my friends behind, even though at that point I was already in college and only seeing them during the breaks. Well, I didn't even get to see them during breaks, so, yeah

It's growing on me, like I said, and I hope this summer serves to redeem it for me completely. Cambridge has already been redeemed. I'm working on the other parts.

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And oh yeah, thanks for the sap.

The friending question.

[identity profile] xjestx.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish I had a more colourful story for you but I friended all the fascinating people enmass after I figured out how to work lj. How you got categorized as one of the fascinating people probably has something to do with Remus, Sirius and their great slashy love...unless you are the person who wrote about Snape and Harry having a baby, like, for dinner? Now that was a fascinating lj entry....

Sorry, I'm easily sidetracked. I friended you because it makes me feel better about the world when I am reminded that there are people like you in it.

Now, since I don't know you at all well, I shall go before I embarrass myself.

Re: The friending question.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
unless you are the person who wrote about Snape and Harry having a baby, like, for dinner? Now that was a fascinating lj entry....

Bwahahah... No, that would actually be one of my closest friends, [livejournal.com profile] jadis31 - she rocks my world. That icon? That was me and her in Dublin, drinking and having way too much fun.

Anyway...

That was a good story, hehe, thank you. :D You haven't embarrassed yourself at all. Trust me. I've done worse than you. Trust me.

[identity profile] themorningstarr.livejournal.com 2003-07-10 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I friended you a while back, so I can't answer the question about why the recent surge in friending... but I can say that I've been thoroughly enjoying your LJ ever since. ;)

In other news... I'm pleased to hear you were writing... I'm a huge fan. I know some of your One True Way stuff almost by heart... isn't that pathetic? But you know... I just don't tire of it.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
Glad I've entertained, heh. And no, that is not pathetic - it's so flattering! It's very nice to hear that people reread your stuff - that means that they like it, right? (Unless they're really really really bored...) In any case, thank you. :)

[identity profile] themorningstarr.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome!

I haven't read any One True Way fics since... you know... the death and all. I thought it would make me too sad. But now that I've had some time to deal with it, I find my need to read has returned.

Because... as you once put it: "R/S smut makes everything better."

And... it's Friday... I think I may visit the kingdom tonight...

[identity profile] airinshaw.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well I haven't friended you lately. I friended you aaaaaaages ago. So stop pointing fingers. I have nothing to hide! *breaks down and flails*

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
*points and laughs*

Oh, wait, that's Croupier's line...

Don't flail, I love you!! And someday, we will sit around, surrounded by dusty books, look as girls bend over to pick things off the floor and eat marmite together! Yay!

Re:

[identity profile] airinshaw.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 11:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! But can I flail too? It's just so much fun to watch the looks on the faces of passerbys....*evil grin*

I didn't friend you exactly recently but - yeah. Hi! I got to know you and your writing through the SBRL yahoo group. And as it turned out later, you were also my wonderful beta at the Sugarquill. Reasons enough to friend you. :)(Strangely enough, you and [livejournal.com profile] canis_m seem to be the only persons on my friends list who are not in the LotRips fandom. So much for variety.)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hi Bettina! Oh, I remember getting your Halloween challenge and thinking, hmm, I wonder if she realizes I'm the person from the SBRL group... Hehe. I remembered you from there, so I was quite amused. :-P And yeah, I'm a big LoTR fan, but for some reason am not in the fandoms...

:)

[identity profile] maleyka.livejournal.com 2003-07-11 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
How did you remember me? Through the eMail adress? Um. I'm quite - I don't know. Pleasantly surprised. *g* Ah yes, the Halloween Challenge. That not-so-good story, but I wanted to take part in that Challenge so badly to finally get rid of the plotbunny.
And yay! Lord of the Rings is my second big fandom. You stick "Harry Potter" or "Lord of the Rings" on something and I'll be sure to go all glossy-eyed and obsessive. ;)
