Up, up and away!

Well, my Remus/Sirius Fuh-Q-Fest challenge contribution is now up at the Fuh-Q-Fest site. It's James POV.

HOLY TYPO, BATMAN!

Ok, that was supposed to be:

Check it out IF you'd like. Not, AND you'd like.

Wow, talk about hubris.

Once more, with feeling - thank you, Roche, for the wonderful beta. And thank you Jo, Ni and Anna for the early looks at the unfinished product and encouragement. Jo, I left the title in just for you. Ha.

*pounces and hugs with everything she's got* Awww, lovie. You'll have to tell me all about the badness so I can make it perfectly clear that it didn't happen.

And I love the fic! You rock socks, yo. (The dedication, too. Awwwwwwwwwwww.)

*buys lottery ticket*

I will tell, only later. It's bad luck to talk about bad dreams before noon that day. So there. :-P

And thank you! I'm glad you liked. :-D

I'm so glad you like it so much! That makes me very happy. :D

And you are quite welcome - it had to happen, all of it!

Love you madly, too! *HUGS* *forty kisses*

Liz, that was awesome.

I don't know if the impending monthly visitor, or the fact that I know all of the characters' fates in the end, or what... but I'm sitting here all teary eyed.

The characterizations were very real. I thought James' struggle with the realization was perfect and the fact that he had to remind himself that if he's not going to be prejudiced, then he can't be prejudiced about anything.

Excellent entry.

Thanks... I was just thinking the same about yours.

Last week it said 7 weeks. Hee hee.

Thank you, Kellie! I'm very glad you liked the characterizations - they were the main theme of the story, basically. I really wanted to fit what we have seen in all the books together and make it realistic, and I'm so glad it worked for people. Thank you!

Oh, that was just great, Liz. Past that, I'm not sure quite what to say. I can't point out any one thing that I liked about it, because it was just the entire thing.

:)

Thank you! :-D I'm so glad you liked it. :)

Great fic, Liz. R/S from James's point of view is quite interesting and I love the way you portray James's feelings. And the best thing, it seems so natural or something :)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, Inga! I'm glad it seemed natural - like I said, it was what I was going for. Yay. :)

Wow. You don't know me, but I have been following the S/R Fuh-Q-Fest eagerly and this may be my favourite fic so far. Just....wow. Holy amazing characterizations, Batman!

*fangirls*

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, thank you! I'm so glad that you liked it - I'm very flattered. I'm not really sure what else to say, except... *blushes*

thank you :)

[identity profile] edeainfj.livejournal.com 2003-08-06 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Great job, Liz! This is definitely one of the most realistic "James' reaction" stories I've read, and your depiction of him is so spot-on with what we now know about canon James. And what a wickedly clever title. ;-)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad my James seemed to work here. It was a bit difficult, reconciling the James we all thought we knew with the James we had just found out about, so I went on all that Sirius and Remus said about him and tried working that in somehow... glad it worked, like I said.

I'm glad you liked the title. It was never meant to be dirty, actually, only very very sad, considering, well. You know. Considering.

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-08-06 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
I really enjoyed this peek inside James's brain. I think my favorite bit was him noticing their hands next to each other on the train. Lovely.

Thanks for this wonderful story.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad you liked the hands - I liked that, too. It was so clear in my mind - that, and Remus's small smile. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I can't wait to read yours!

[identity profile] sabine10.livejournal.com 2003-08-06 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
I loved to read your story. It was very interesting to read something about James' thoughts and feelings (which you describe in a way that they are very well understandable) in regard to Remus and Sirius. And you are drawing pictures in my mind - like the scene in the train or when James turns back seeing Remus and Sirius - with your words. :) Thanks for sharing your story.

I've read that Carrie is visiting you and I hope that you both will have a wonderful time. :)

*Hugs*

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much, Sabine! I'm glad that the story worked well visually - I had a fear that it was too much inner monologue and not enough actual action, but I just felt like it was the best way to do it. I'm glad that it worked despite the lack of action within the story. Thank you!

*hugs*

*sniff* So pretty. Oh the puppies. Oh the James. What greatness. Yum. More detailed review when I'm not frantically stalling packing to go to another hemisphere.

If, on the plane, I were to, you know, hypothetically, write something for the Fest, do you think you could give it a look when I got back? It wouldn't leave you much time...like a week at the end of the month? Don't sweat it.

Your story was lovely. Ohhhhh, puppies puppies. Eeeeeeee.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, sweetie, I'm so glad you liked. That makes me so happy.

And I know that you're already on the plane, and all, and I already emailed, but nevertheless - I would be happy to see you write the puppies, and of course I'll look it over. That's what I'm here for.

Oh, the puppies!.. *MWAAAAAAH*

[identity profile] lost-lorelei.livejournal.com 2003-08-06 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
('Almost all' because he isn't the only one who can swagger about, of course. The other ones are in love with me. Well, at least partially. In any case, a few of them definitely are.)

Mwhahahahahah!!
I love this! I love you! Would you marry me?

:)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-07 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, glad I could amuse. And even though I'm quite spoken for, who knows. Heh.

Thanks :)

I'm a bit late here, but I just stumbled across your journal and I felt compelled to descend out of lurkerdom momentarily, and tell you how much I loved your fic.

Because I did love it, very very much. I read it five times in a row and it made me feel all warm and happy and, at the same time, extremely sad. You hit that mood very well. The scenes themselves I can picture vividly. They work perfectly in my mind, and I don’t use that word lightly. Plus, eloquent writing and smart characterisation; the whole thing works. Thank you for a good read!

BTW, I'm friending you out of fangirlish admiration. Hope you don't mind.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-11 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hello!

I just noticed this, and wanted to say - thank you for the lovely review! I really appreciate you taking the time to do this, and I'm so glad that you liked it. I'm trying to say more here, but really, just - thank you.

And I don't mind, friend away. :)
