Oh, I'm still laughing.

Of COURSE there's no power in Long Island. Of course.

Looks like it's staying at home for me today. Well, more sleep that way.

*sigh*

At Swim

Okay, I'm the unenlightened. Can you give me an idea of what At Swim, Two Boys is about, and why I should read it? Because you say it's great, and I don't want to miss out on that!

Hmmm, well, let's see...

In short, it's about two 16 year old boys in Ireland (1915-1916) who fall in love. In long, it would take too long to explain the sheer beauty and genius of this book. It's heartwrenching, heartbreaking, gorgeous, uplifting, hopeful, draining, hilarious, beautiful...everything. It's the best book I'd ever read.

So, there you are: 'At Swim, Two Boys' in a nutshell.

Well, now there's power, but I'm still here, because damn me if I'm going to give up a free sick day. You see, the problem now is that I really AM sick. So, I'm greatly entertaining myself by reading 'Beyond the Veil' under the covers, with tissues in hand. (For the snot, not yet the tears.) But it is soooooo good.

Anyway.

I am so sorry that you're feeling this way... I mean... I knew you would, I think, and now I feel guilty... I just feel like it was important to read it, because it's so... well... you know... THERE. ALL. Gorgeous. But feel free to bitch anytime, and cry, and everything. I will hold you and wipe away any tears, even if from far away. :( I wish I COULD hold you. I know this probably won't help any, but when I finished it I had no one at all to talk to about it, because no one except David had read it yet. And he was away. And I was drained. So, when you do finish it, I will be here, love, to the best of my ability and time availability.

*loves you back, a whole lot*

Hope you get ideas and write your own Veil-related fic, I´d truly love that.

Oh, sweetie, I only wish I could. I cannot do Plot, and that seriously requires PLOT. I mean...yeah. It would be...difficult. >.< I wish I could. After reading that story, though, anything else will feel weird, because it's like canon to me now. Heh.

I WILL be online tonight! If only just to HUG you and BE there. Ok? OK. :)

I love you, and I'm so sorry you're having such a difficult time. We'll definitely talk more about it tonight, if you wanted to, ok?

*Forty Hugs and Kisses!*

Hi- It's me, the same anonymous person- I tried to sign up but apparently you have to have an activation sent by a friend. And other than you guys, I don't know anyone who uses LiveJournal.

Anyway, based on your review, I'm going to order this book. I've actually picked it up from the shelf before, just didn't know it sounded so good! Which is shocking, because I've worked in a bookstore for about 3 years now, and you'd think *someone* would have read it. But anyway, thanks for your review.

Cheers,
The Reading Girl.
