random crap.

This is why I've missed [livejournal.com profile] voxmaille so much.

Tonks is a big dyke. Am I the only person who sees this as a problem for all of the R/T shippers out there?

Yeah. Um, yeah.

Anyway, speaking of Big Fat Dykes, [livejournal.com profile] aneli8 and I just watched the British QAF (sadly, not all, and sadly, the second series continues to elude me... wah! I wanna see it again!) and the biggest crime had been committed. For some reason, for some goddamn unknown reason, they changed the music in the show. Not the theme music - thank god - but the music in the 'It's Raining Men' scene. And those of you who have seen that scene will know just how big a crime that is. I mean...THE HELL?! So, the best scene was turned into a big non-climactic disappointment. I was very upset. BAH!! But I got to see Stuart, and Vince, and Hazel, and Nathan, and the Queer Mobile, and, obviously, there is no way to make that unenjoyable. And I got to share yet another obsession with Anna, which, too, is wonderful. She spent basically my entire work day at my work, sitting, reading, following me and talking to me and made the entire thing much more enjoyable.

Oh, and has anybody seen 'Die Another Day'? It was playing on the bus yesterday, and the only thing I could think in the beginning, when Bond's imprisoned in North Korea was: 'Hello, Sirius, what are YOU doing in Asia?' Anybody else? Strange...

I am so goddamn tired. I got about six hours of sleep last night, and that's just not right. So, I will go to bed early today.

I only have a week and a half left at this job, and it seems so wrong and sudden. I really really like it. In fact, it's the best job I've ever had - certainly one I've enjoyed the most. (Ok, so working with 3rd graders was wonderful, too, but much more exasperating.) Dammit. That sucks. Oh, well. All good things...

Good night. And love to all.

I have seen "Die Another Day." I am now retroactively laughing. Although whenever I think of that movie, I think of both Halle Berry and the hot English muffin.

Just wait, someone will now write a R/T fic where it's purely experimental, since he's never been with a woman, she's never been with a man, and they just want to see how things go. And then they fall in twu wuv against their typical inclinations. ;)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, but Halle Berry totally eclipsed the hot English muffin. I mean, her entry was worth a thousand English muffins right there. Just...wow. She's just...yeah.

And you only do this to torture me, so I'm not rising to the bait. Funnily enough, neither will Remus.

[identity profile] spin1978.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
Halle's entrance was one of the most memorable in recent history. No doubt about that.

Well, I think a R/T fic post-R/S might be interesting. I mean, whoever would write a good one would show that love crosses all boundaries and remind us all that what attracts us to others is who they are, not what genetic and hormonal differences exist. I think it could make for a very enlightened and ennobling read. ;)

You can take the man out of the ship, but you can't take the ship out of the girl. Personally, I have a problem with Tonks not just because she's a girl and my Remus is gay as a daisy, but because they're so different, and there's such an age gap. I just don't see it, at all. Honestly. As a ship, it doesn't work for me. I don't want Remus to suffer for the rest of his life, or be alone, but I don't think Tonks is the answer. It would be interesting, in the way that you say, but to me, it just isn't possible, nor probable...

[identity profile] therealmarajade.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
LOOOOOOL! Liz, you just made my day!

There is a rabid R/T shipper on a Brazilian list who continually calls me prejudiced because I support R/S (I even made a badge supporting it just to upset her...I will try to take a pic of it to show you and Moa someday).

Actually, I think she says she is R/T only to upset the OTWers.

Anyway, she is a beoycht, and I suspect her strong reactions to R/S may be related to the fact that she is, in fact, still inside the closet, but hasn't realized that yet.

Yeah, I know, that is a mean thing to say, but she gets on my nerves. I don't call her prejudiced, and she does that every once in a while when I mention R/S! X|

Debora

PS: Sirius Black in 'Die Another Day'? Been there, thought that too. :D

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, that woman sounds like she needs a smackdown. I hate it when people start shipping something only to avenge a ship they don't like. Shipping itself is silly enough (I know it is, and I know I do it, but I only have the ONE ship - apart from canon - so, it isn't like I'm doing the whole alphabet soup here), but to do it out of silly grudges? Please. Sounds to me like she's got some issues to take care of. Good riddance.

As to your P.S. - ha! Excellent. ;)

I have told you, haven't I, that that icon makes me giggle in a decidedly undignified fashion everytime I see it. I want to rip it off.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohh, really? Awesome. I love it too.

So, when you say 'rip it off', you mean display with all the rightful copyrighting attached?

Hehe. *laughs at you*

*licks*

it's ok :)

[identity profile] aneli8.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
*MWAH*

You're lovely.

:)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Same to you, sweetie. :)

*MWAH!*

[identity profile] mkholmquist.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
YES!! Pierce in Die Another Day was the spitting image of Sirius Black.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank. You. So glad you agree. It was really amusing me. Of course, once he shaved, it was very different. He doesn't do much for me, at any rate. But still. Yeah. Man.

[identity profile] mkholmquist.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
OT: I find it slightly disturbing that your Remus icon and mine look oddly similar! O_O

Heheheheh.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee!!

[identity profile] edeainfj.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I might have to force myself to watch a Bond movie so I can see this! Viggo Mortensen, in his first scene in Fellowship of the Ring, made me think of Sirius in the Shrieking Shack - that hood over his face, the long hair, the wild eyes, the dark face and twisted grin... In fact, the first time I saw LotR, I leaned over to my mom and whispered, "Sirius!" :D

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I might have to force myself to watch a Bond movie so I can see this!

Hey, all you have to do is watch the first ten minutes. ;) (I'd also recommend seeing Halle Berry's entrance, but, er, that isn't required...)

Oh, I know what you mean about Viggo Mortensen, though, funnily enough, what that scene reminds me of is the first time we see MacEmm in 'At Swim'. When he lights the cigarette and we get a flash of his eyes underneath the brim of his hat...

Anyway......

[identity profile] amaterasu.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
If you're going to "force yourself" to watch a Bond film, Die Another Day really isn't the one to do, but for the sake of a Sirius Lookalike...

But ditto to Viggo. And also Adrien Brody in the second half of The Pianist. It was the last thing I should have been thinking of during that film, but... there it was.

1. Awww, thank you, Ni. That's so sweet. *hugs*

2. Heh. Heheheheehehe. Heh.

3. Isn't she though?! *g*

4. No, no, no! Totally not your fault! Stop that!!

*MWAAAAAAAH*
*love*

P.S. I'm sorry I'm not on AIM, but I'm about to go to bed... lots of love to you, though.

Tonks is a big dyke. She's hot for Ginny.

...

*has lesbian sex with her own icon*

...

She's hot for Ginny
You're so right! How's that people can't see it?

[identity profile] amaterasu.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
OhmyGodIthoughtIwastheonlyone.

Not bloody likely, especially in our fandom, but still... Hee!

[identity profile] voxmaille.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Tonks is hot. When she's done with Dean (and, oh yeah, when she's legal) Ginny should have a fling before settling down with Harry.

I would.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you so would.

Hee. Kidding, you. ;)

[identity profile] zoesmith.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Die another Day"

That movie was so boring. How did this happen? I used to love James Bond, but I fell asleep in the middle of it.

But yes he looks like Sirius. That's why I managed to stay awake for so long.

Sorry about your job.
Kisses, Zoe :-)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the movie undoubtedly sucked, but he was SO Sirius. ;) That's as good reason as any to stay awake, my friend.

:)

[identity profile] rochefort.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
Tonks is a big dyke.

She so is. Even I, the only slasher with virtually non-existent gaydar, saw it right after I read that wretched book.

Am I the only person who sees this as a problem for all of the R/T shippers out there?

R/T shippers? What strange breed is this? Just as there are people who will slash anything regardless of canon or characterisation, so there must be a het equivalent. Weird.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-08-21 12:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I see it as a reaction against R/S. See, before, they had no one to go by except Original Mary Sues. Now, look - gasp! - Remus talked to a woman! And they both carried in Harry's trunk! It's TWUE WUV!! No more GAYNESS!! YAY!!

You know?..

You have no gay-dar, really? That's cool, in a sorta funny way. Mine wavers...
