oh believe me, he IS scary.

I almost had to play babysitter for him. My ex-boss wanted him to play at one of the festivals he's organising, and we were already discussing specifics with one of McGowan's managers.That guy warned us that McGowan is likely to demolish his hotel room, and we would need an additional insurance and what not... *shudder*

in the end, it was too expensive and we refrained from signing the contract. somehow it was a pity, but on the other hand, I was relieved.

Is he? See, he's still cool in my mind. Bonzo from Led Zeppelin wrecked hotel rooms like it was his job (hell, it was) and I still think he's cool because he could drum like nobody's business. (I have a place for drummers in my heart - I wanted to become one, but never had the money either for a drum set or lessons.) I can see how you'd be relieved, however. You have to admire those people from afar, where they can't set a chair flying at you.
