Ahhhhh...
Well, now. I am back and happy. The NY GALs meeting/mini-summit was a blast - complete with NC-17 R/S shipping madness done in magnetic poetry on CoKerry's fridge. When did words like "pole" "sweaty" and "skin" enter into the magnetic poetry fray? Well, whoever thought it up, we sure thank - that was just the icing on the, er, cake for us. So, what was that about "black" "booty"?.. ::cackle::
And, oh the memories - walked by my old dorm building and almost cried. It's still there - and lucky students are still walking in and out of it, the revolving door is still revolving, and the laundry fumes are still emanating from under the ground. Crazy people are still walking around the park and I'm still trying to figure out who two years could bring about such a change. Just two years ago I was a part of it all - now I'm just an observer. But I like to think of myself as a wizened observer. A seasoned one. Perhaps even, above it all.
Oh, who the hell am I kidding...
Moving on.
Jadis, just in case you're reading - have you finished it yet? ::dreamy sigh::
And - YES! - my loan was finally approved. I am now the proud bearer of a large sum of money that will have to be repaid after I am done with school and my parents are free of the burden. YES! Oh, I feel so much better - never did a happier soul enter into monetary slavery. I now belong to that bank and they can have rule over my immortal soul if my parents don't have to pay another dime for tuition.
And last night, when I finally got off the train, Sam didn't meet me. Brian did. Why?
"He's cooking you dinner."
Well, my stomach was grateful - I was hungry - and when asked what, exactly, he's cooking, Brian responded with a mysterious and overused "It's a secret."
So, we finally made it home, opened the door - the dining room table was set for two, there was rice in a bowl, green beans in another, two little bowls with round pieces of banana and a plate with four large brownies. Sam was putting the final touches on all of it - and holding a skillet with thai chicken on it. The stereo was playing Shubert.
All together now: "awwwwwww..."
Awww, indeed - not only was I hungry, but I was completely flabbergasted - I definitely wasn't expecting that. He also got out two - chilled! - glasses and poured us some - well, cheap, but that's excusable - wine. And while Brian and his friend went out to get a movie, we had our wonderful dinner, complete with dimmed lighting and Sam being decidedly too satisfied with himself.
And the best part was that the whole way home I was just dying to see him and hug him and have a wonderful night - and he was way ahead of me. We did have a wonderful night - and hopefully will continue to do so until I leave this weekend for home. And then...well. Then I don't know if I'll ever see him again.
But such is life.
And is it really so strange to be talking about who took the wedding pictures in Harry's photo album and wonder why Lupin wasn't in any of them?
CoKerry's roommate thought so...heh.

And now... AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. That is just so sweet.
And it's definitely not weird to talk about who took the photos and why Remus isn't in them. I suspect he took a lot, and made sure that he sent a picture in which he wasn't prominant. It wouldn't suprise me if he was the one behind the Wedding photo.
Randomly: You ROX and I hope, hope, hope you get to come to the November Manchester Summit. :)

a) my sister was always on my case, and
b) i felt like i had to justify every dollar i spent, even though it wasn't completely necessary
this just makes me feel better, you know? besides, they're in such a hole right now, that it's just good for them.
i'm glad that, at least to you guys, that isn't weird. ;) and it's a pressing issue, don't you think? hehe...
novmeber, you say? i was afraid it already happened! i will definitely try - we'll see how my schedule and monetary supplies look, but i wil try! thank you for inviting me - and hey, you ROX too, very much! :)
and isn't it sweet, though? :) he even didn't add ginger because he knew i hated it.

Considering that I recently sat around and posted on one of the ships on FA about that very topic, and could all too easily see where I would sit around and talk about that subject, I would have to say no, that it's not strange at all.
Then again, some consider me strange, so... *shrug*

yes, I did. there were many many tears. followed by many more. oh my god, that was a really beautiful book. I put off the end of it for days. I didn't read a word of it for honestly 3 or 4 days (put it down while they were both still in MacEmm's house). i didn't want anything horrible to happen to the boys. so I stopped while they were happy. I finally finished it tonight. I am now actively planning a vacation to Dun Laoghaire. I want to see the forty foot. I want to swim there. I need to get a job and my mum has to be able to walk before I get to vacation but I am so going there!! probably after I visit you this year. so you are more than welcomed to visit Dublin with me.... I need to get a job. now.
as for the photos. I would guess that most of them were provided by Re and therefore would be ones he had taken. I will admit I had never thought about it. but i think that is a solid theory. and of course you are strange. and we wouldn't have you any other way.
and I am glad that you had a nice night with Sam. enjoy you last week in LI. don't worry too much about what comes after.
XO,
Jadis, who is still not recovered from the end of the book. everyone else should go read it. all of you. now.
Re: sniff sniff
And I would LOVE to visit Ireland with you. I was planning on it anyway - I mean, how can I not?! - and with you, it'll be doubly wonderful! Ah, the Forty Foot... Ah, Ireland...
I will try not to worry too much - it just...happens on its own. :)
And I will write to you, I swear! Soon, if I can! (I love long emails and I love answering them with equally long ones, but it takes time...)
Stop crying - but if you don't, I'll join right with you...
