I am a dork supremo, and I went to the library yesterday for the first time only to look at books, and one of them was a mini-pilgrimage: I saw the first copy of 'At Swim' I read. With all my notes in it still there. Such as the 'hallelujah' at the Muglins, and whatnot. I underlined so many lines, many I'd forgotten about. It brought back wonderful memories. What made me sad, though, is the fact that I was one of two people who ever took it out.
I watched 'The Fifth Element' for the first time yesterday, and I have to say that Gary Oldman did a KICK-ASS job on the Texan accent. It was basically perfect. I was very very impressed.
See? I do like him as an actor. Just not as Sirius. Anyway.
I have no other news. The internet thing is looking more and more impossible, so I'm trying not to think about it.
I finally got to be on AIM, even if for a short while. But, oh, what respite.
And we have a gazillion crickets in our place. We had to sleep with the light on last night just to shut them up, and I DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT.
*sigh*
Anyway. I'm listening to good music and talking to good people. Yes.

Oh, I wish! This is the place where I had the infamous exchange of:
Me, to a girl who just bought books for a class: "Oh, you'll really love this book, it's wonderful, one of my favorites!"
Her, staring blankly: "What do you do, read all the time?"
Why do you think I hate this place, sweetie?
oh shit! Not fair! Why? why? :(
Because apparently my computer might be configured incorrectly, or some shit like that. I'm doing my best, I promise. :-/
I was really glad to see you, too, and I'm sorry I was so half-assed - the computer was really fucked up. But still, yay!
love you too!

You know, in high school, I would have LOVED that song, mainly because my best friend and I both found this one kid unbelievably hot, and, for strange reasons, we had nicknamed him 'the Cricket'. He was hot. The insects are not. They suck.
Hallelujah, indeed. ;) And you are SO welcome to be weird on my LJ any day of the week! I was so happy to taaaaalk to you!

He's really an excellent actor and not as ugly as some of his movies make him out to be...
LOL. What does that say about an actor's filmography that you have to insist: "He's not as ugly as in most of his movies, I SWEAR IT."
Re: *HOPEFUL GRIN*
Man, I don't know. I just don't know. I hope that maybe someday I am, but I am not certain. It's just...you know. Yeah.

Hehehe. In two words? Not much.
We'll see. Yeah.
(Casting Lupin for me is like casting Jim, Doyler, or, better yet, MacEmm. Not possible without pain.)

(BTW, It will be in the mail tomorrow!!)
Re: *HOPEFUL GRIN*
I'm not sure what movies you can get down there in the states, but I recommend Gangster No. 1 for an actually good-looking David Thewlis!
Plus in the unlikely event that anybody ever needs a screenshot of Lupin lying in a puddle of his own blood and crawling along the pavement, you'd have that film for material.
Also, in Restoration (1995) he played an extremely Lupin-y character, too bad the movie was nowhere near as good as the book.

In reply to your last text message to me (and the crew) yesterday: we had fun. How can you not have fun when you have pirates, sexy British wenches, and rum? (We really did have rum afterwards. Yum.)
Heh.

Ok, we need to start planning for real here. Get Arborealis and Miss Firelocks involved, as well. We've got room! Hee.
