(no subject)

I am crossing my fingers for you. Knock 'em dead, and all that. You'll be great.

Sometimes, cell phones suck. Like when you end up in the middle of your road at 11 at night, jumping up and down and all around just to hear the person on the other end of the line. This was me, last night:

(jump to the left): Jo?
(jump to the right): Hello? Jo?
(run up the road): Oh! I just heard you! Damn, you're gone again.
(run back): Jooooooooooooooooo!!!!

This went on for a good half hour before we decided that enough was enough, and said goodbye. I ended up staying outside and talking with my landlord about how much his life sucks and feeling sorry for him, because his life really does seem to suck.

In other news, I have no news. Sometime this week I am hoping for that internet connection. Also, I will have to go and get a connector cable for my scanner so that I can finally hook it up and scan stuff, like Geekmoot pictures. I know at least some of you will be interested in them... Hehe...

I miss you. A lot. Like, a LOT.

And, finally, I have a proposal to make. This might sound really stupid, but the thing is, I suck at plot. Or coming up with ideas for stories, rather. And lately, I have really wanted to write (the result of having my own computer, perhaps) but haven't been able to think of any sort of interesting idea...so. I give you a challenge. Give me an idea to work with (with R/S, for instance) and I will try and write something. I know it's pathetic. But, um, help me out?

All right. Must go to class now. Andrew Jackson seems to have been a pretty big asshole, it seems. I don't think they taught us that in seventh grade.

But I'm all hopeful now, yes, this week, I think I can survive a few days more :)

I hope I can, too! I mean, our landlady said she'd get the switch this week, so if she does, it's a matter of convincing our friend Brian to help install it and everything. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though trying not to get my hopes up TOO much, just in case. But still. Yay! At least they agreed, and everything.

Re: the mojo story - I have to have my dad send me the file, because he hasn't yet, and I had no time to do it before I moved (or, rather, I did, but my mother was standing over me screaming, so...) So. I am still thinking about it, and everything. Keep pestering. ;) It isn't completely dead.

As for history, well, yes. I remember being taught all about grandpa Lenin and how he used to shine everybody's shoes from the age of one. Or something like that. Basically, bullcrap, but we all need ideals, right? Heh.

*MWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH* *love*

It's not pathetic, it's fun. It's the audience participation part of the show.

How 'bout: Remus and Sirius (or better yet, Remus and Padfoot) on a day trip. For instance, to Brighton! Nyaha! Can be at any point in their history. Screw JKR and make it AU if you like.

[identity profile] canis-m.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
p.s. If you do use Brighton, let's have some local color.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
Audience participation. Got it.

Ok, sounds good. I will do my best. As for AU's... oh, maybe. I can't quite bring myself to do it yet, but depending on where this story is going to go...

Brighton it is!

Gookmoot! Pictures! Yay!

You have my sympathy over the evilness of phone connections and the lack of plotting ideas. I fucking suck at plots. Hmm... maybe something like 'Sirius' life in GoF' or something? There's interesting room for scope there. I'd love to read anything you might write, though. :)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
Gookmoot! Pictures! Yay!

:D :D :D

I fucking suck at plots.

Yeah, that's me, too, in a nutshell.

And wow, you went for the hard one, didn't you? I'll have to think long and hard. Mmmm, ow. Brain hurts.

*mwah*

[identity profile] soupytwist.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's me, too, in a nutshell.

Nah, this is you in a nutshell. *does nutshell impression* "Help! Let me out, I'm in a nutshell! What am I doing in this nutshell, anyway? And where did this huge nutshell come from?"

*giggles* Sorry, couldn't resist.:D

*love love love*

Yeah, Andrew Jackson was an asshole; but most gradeschool history isn't really history anyway, just cultural mythology. Which is good and bad in its own way; I wonder how many Americans really believe the first English settlers here with the Pilgrims, as opposed to hard-bitten tobacco farmers in Jamestown.

Here's an R/S idea that's been bugging me: why did the other Marauders trust Peter more than Remus? What made them suspect that Remus was the spy (especially if he and Sirius were sleeping together!) I have a theory, but I'd love to see yours.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Andrew Jackson was an asshole

Total asshole. Wow. I remember thinking of him rather positively in middle school, but then again, that was middle school. You're absolutely right that it's cultural mythology. We all need legends, right? < /snark >

Ooooooooh, the worst question that an R/S shipper can ask and try to answer. I'll do my best. I've got theories as well, though not very coherent. Damn. This also means plot. Heh.

[identity profile] lost-lorelei.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
(especially if he and Sirius were sleeping together!)

Dude, you're good!

[identity profile] lost-lorelei.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
But, duuude, what's wrong with PWP? It's fuun!! :D

Hmm. I've always wanted to read a fic about Moony's first transformation with Sirius after Azkaban and all that jazz. It must have been weird after so many years alone. I keep imagining Sirius offering to transform with him, the awkwardness and ... and ...

Yeah, I suck at plot. Meh.

Anna

But, duuude, what's wrong with PWP? It's fuun!! :D

Oh, but of course! Practically everything I've ever written has been a PWP... heh.

Hmmmm, interesting idea... Shall think it over! :) Thank you!

[identity profile] taintedrocky.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
Andrew Jackson WAS a pretty big asshole.

Ahem. That is all.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Heheheheh. Wow, apparently, this is a big thing!

[identity profile] zoesmith.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
That's why I try not using my cell phone too much. It can be frustrating.

A S/R challange!!!! I'll get back to you...

Kisses

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, see, my phone was fine. It was Jo's that was fucking up. Heh.

*smacks head* I got your letter! But I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet because I wasn't there when it arrived, and i need to sign for it. *sigh* I'll get it tomorrow. Don't cut off your balls. I forbid it.

Nice idea. You weren't going for plot, were you? ;) Will do. Happily, I might add.

*MWAAAH* love you too!

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-16 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's no problem! In fact, I'm going to drive down there in a few minutes and pick it up. Yay! :)

Plot? What plot? *grins*
Hehehe. That's my Ni.

*MWAH!!!*

[identity profile] readinggirl.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Erm- I second that fic idea!

And also, maybe letter-fics- like, how they (R/S) kept in touch after Sirius had to go on the run with Beaky? Because surely Harry wasn't the only person Sirius wrote to?

And has anyone else ever been frustrated at the lack of back-story for Lupin in the books? Like, we know about Sirius' family history, but what did Lupin do before he was a professor in the 3rd book? He was probably a teacher, but it would be nice to have J.K. write it. Oh well, I suppose now Harry doesn't /have any/ parents - god- or other wise, maybe Lupin will take over that role and tell Harry (and us) a bit about himself. I bloody well hope so.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. What didn't you like about it? Was the ambiguity that had you disappointed?

I wasn't on the R/S ship at that stage- it is only a recent thing- only after I had read OoTp 2 & a half times that I suddenly thought "Ooo, hello!"
(deleted comment)

[identity profile] readinggirl.livejournal.com 2003-09-16 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry to hear you didn't get what you expected.
Though, if I had it my way (God, that sounds awful, but go with me here!) the release of Book 6 wouldn't be as hyped, and the book itself wouldn't be as thick. Maybe halfway between books 3 & 4. That sounds dreadful, but it's not like JK needs the money- I'd just like to see a really carefully crafted story. What do the rest of you think?

[identity profile] lea-ndra.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
mhmm... I always wanted to read a Sirius as Stubby Boardman fic :-)
gay sex, butterbeers and rock'n roll, baby!

[identity profile] miraminx.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the possibility of more Liz goodness must be encouraged.

How about something about what Remus did during GoF? There's nothing to say that he and Sirius *didn't* see each other between the end of PoA and the beginning of OotP...

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-16 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh... true, very true. Hmmm. I'll have to think about that one. Yay, more stories! Now, I have to live up to the ideas. Damn!

[identity profile] simster.livejournal.com 2003-09-15 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, here's a potentially cute R/S story:

How about a story on when they first met, as schoolboys? I've always wanted to read a fic about their initial meeting. I imagine their connection was instant. Something along the lines of Canis' "Hang the Moon." What do you think? Good plot?

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2003-09-16 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, yeah, hehe. Ni's right - I wrote one like that. In fact, precisely their first meeting. I might actually do more with that story - I liked the boys in it, I think I might wrote more in that arc... We shall see. :)
