So, the obligatory YAY WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON!!!!!!!!!! comment. I really enjoyed the Oscars, especially since the last hour of it I spent on the phone with Jo ogling breasts and screeching with joy over each victory that belonged to LoTR. And Ian McKellen is just so lovely. He is just so lovely.

Today, Sam and I were in our school bookstore which really just sucks (their fiction section is about eight shelves long and utterly pathetic). We were about to leave when I spotted a British hardback copy of At Swim in the bargain bin. It was 50% off the sticker price. Sam decided that for $2.50, he might as well buy it. Ha! He bought a copy of At Swim. Of course, he won't read it for another two or three and ten years, but still. I'm reading it at work at the moment, and it's saving me from going berserk.

Other than that, I really have nothing to say at all. It should be my new motto, anyway. I like to call it the 'Shut The Fuck Up!!!' motto. It's quite healthy for me, really.

Aww, you haven't seen it? I made it right after I saw the film. *sigh* It makes me want to cry, too.

I was going book-hunting at my local bookstore the other day, and as I was making my rounds through the O'IrishNames, I suddenly see this thick...green book. Right next to the brown At Swims. Take it out. What do I see? UK hardback copy of At Swim, Two Boys for $4.98. Arrrrrgh. I was so tempted.

Our bookstore is nice. It has tables of "literary remainders" for 50-75% off, and most of them aren't even remainders. Hell, I bought a $4.98 copy of Invisible Man there, and then found a $12 copy (same edition) on the shelf. And then I was about to buy a $14 The Impressionist when I realized that right next to it was a spiffy one for $4.98.

So, they're either really nice, or careless :) No matter.

Yeah, gotta love those British hardbacks. Five bucks...for so much goodness. Mmmmmm... And it makes me laugh that your store would do that. I mean, it's one thing to have it in the bargain bin away from prying eyes, but right there? Now that's amusing.

$2.50? That's good. Labyrinth (the place where I found the UK hardcovers when I asked you if they were legit) still has a bunch for like $5 or whatever it was. I'm debating polling everyone I know, asking whether or not they've read it, and if they haven't, they're getting a copy ASAP. :)

Ogling breasts? Perv!

o O (OK, OK, so I may have been doing the same thing....)

Do it, do it, do it! Poll people! Spread the word! Hehe...

I know I'm a perv. And I know you are, too. You can't hide from me, mister. ;)
