Film, film, film...

So, I'm seeing PoA tonight, and I've been hearing a lot of squeeeeing over it, as well as such reviews as "it sucked." I'll reserve my judgment till later today, BUT I did want to say something, just 'cause it came to mind, and I'm in the mood for verbal diarrhea:

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what the movies are like, right? Because the books are the original canon, they are what they are, and nothing can take that away from them. No matter how many people may now write fic with mustache!Lupin, or whatever else happened in the film (Steve Kloves actually saying Lupin was "in love with Lily in many ways"? *raises sceptical eyebrow*), the books - and our interpretation of them - are free to go on as they had before. I mean, shit. It's just a fucking movie.

This, you understand, is my way of living in denial, but I also do think it's true. They're just adaptations. The books are the actual THING.

On a totally different note, I am now determined to work out every day, dammit. I'm tired of being out of shape. And losing to my friend in wrestling...
