Ok, I know I said I wouldn't post much, but this is just a random stupid rant thing --

I was lying on the couch, after having left work early two days in a row (I'm siiiiiiick), and was flipping the channels between VH1's "I Love The 90s" (sadly disappointing), and "Law & Order." On VH1, they were talking about Right Said Fred and "I'm Too Sexy," and they were saying the stupidest shit about it. Since I'm a huge fan of that song, allow me to rant:

What, are you people stupid, or something? It's a joke! The whole thing! Anybody who takes that song seriously has some serious issues. It was a joke on all the male models/body builders who would work out at gyms and parade their muscles in front of everybody and anybody they could spot, including flies on walls. Honestly. It can't be that hard to figure out the song is a joke, and it's just silly, mindless fun.

Pffffffft.

Rant away, m'dear. I fully agree with you. I love the song too. I'd understand if it had hidden depths which needed discovering on some deeper intellectual level, but it's just a simple, no-brainer FUN song. Mind you, that's an act of sacrilege to some. Everything has to carry some sort of socio-political message. *head droops, snores*

But then, I was around in the days of Glam and Bubblegum. I'm used to musical pap, and I love it to bits.

I think we had that exact same show here. Did they also have a thing about how it took the BBC about three weeks to realise what Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax was about? Anyway, all I have to say is 'yeah': it's fun, and anyone who thinks a song involving the phrase 'shake my little tush' is serious probably needs to be slapped.

I saw that song on their "50 Worst Songs" show. They must have recycled the same segment because they totally didn't take it in the humorous spirit which was intended. I had the same impression you did - it was like they didn't get it.

I can sing along with it in spanish, but I don't *really* know what it's saying, so it's hard to write them. Googling it doesn't bring up the Spanish lyrics (at least not on the first few pages).

Yeah, and the thing is, they were all like "this song is stupid!" "nobody's that sexy!" and made fun of it. I was just bewildered. I see dumb people.
