On Showing...Smut...

Had a conversation with Sam last night, over AIM.

Somehow, somewhere, it got here:

me: yeah, so you can read some stuff, but you're NOT reading the smut!

Yeah. So, er...yeah.

Huh.

Well. Now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to let him read. I think "HSD" is one... But then, about the smut...since he seems so, er, intent on reading it... I think that'll be "Mint". That, or "Revenge".

Ideas, anyone? This is just so weird.

I can't believe I'm doing this. Wow.

But I made him promise that he wouldn't go looking for more, and that he wouldn't go into the 'fandom' and see where I go... That IS something I want to keep private. He promised. Which is good.

But, first, of course, he needs to actually read the books. Ha.

CHANGE OF TOPIC:

Guess what, boys and girls! Roche has another story out now! Whooo! Took her long enough. ;) I'm going to think of it as a prelude to "Set on Fire"... Mmmmm, "Set on Fire"... First time I read it, I reread it immediately. Sign of good stuff.

Roche, I know I have yet to review it, but you said to take my time, and I want it to be thorough and whatnot. So, soon! And you kick ass.

Over and out to brave the elements and get me some food. Because I'm all out.

And Theresa still has my Smirnoff Ice. We're making dinner together tonight, and I feel like drinking a bit. And since I paid for it, I'm going to have it.

It sounds weeeird (I'd be freaking more than a bit in that situation), but dealable. He seems to be being fine about it and supporting your boundaries in not seeing where you hang around online and stuff. And your smut is *good* smut, so just pic the story you're most comfortable with him reading. It's your comfort levels that really count, here.

I can just see you protecting your Smirnoff (mmmm.... Smirnoff Ice...) a la Gollum from LotR and the Ring. Hee.

Roche has another story out now!

And it was well worth waiting for. "An Intimate Conspiracy" is the title, and the story is a wonderfully fresh take on Sirius telling Snape how to find Remus in the Shack. So far it's only on SBRL. Maybe we can convince her to post it to Ink Stained Fingers. By the way, I think of it as a prequel to "Set on Fire" too.

No, they'll take anything with a slash(y) slant to it. It's an automated, U-Post-It archive so there's no one there to be contemptuous-- not that they would be; it's a wonderful, delicate and beautifully-written story.

And I'm glad to have you confirm my idea that this is the same Sirius and Remus who appear in "Set on Fire".

I hope you enjoyed your Smirnoff Ice. And don't feel guilty about drinking. I like to think of it in the same terms as an anonymous man accused of public drunkenness by a church court during Cromwell's reign. He told the minister/magistrate, 'Drunkenness is but a help to see Christ the better by'.

(Ok, you may not actually believe that, but it might come in handy if ever you're charged with being drunk and disorderly in The Lanes.)

No, no - no guilt. I don't drink often enough to start feeling guilty. And I am not a drunk. I am a university student. It's almost a law that I drink. I'm just obeying the law. No, really!
