On The Healing Properties of Walking Around Brighton.
So, today we were planning on going to Stonehenge. However, seeing as how we were all dog-tired from yesterday, and Marie is still sick, and it was raining this morning, we had decided to postpone the trip indefinitely. This gave me and Theresa a chance to go to town and look for jobs, and various and sundry other things. Oh, and take naps. As soon as we decided that we weren't going, we all went right back to sleep. It was marvelous.
In any case, we hit the town big time. We went all around, going into different coffee shops, bakeries, random stores... At one point, we went into a bead shop that I really like (I am obsessed with beads, and make necklaces and bracelets and anklets all the friggin' time). Turns out, they are looking for people. Yay! I filled out the application (the easiest application known to man, took me approximately 2 minutes) and they said they would get back to me within the next couple of days, maybe. Oh, here's hopin'. Send good vibes, guys, I really need this. I hope, I hope this happens.
In any case, besides that, we also bought a bunch of random - and not so random - crap. We bought Sudafed for Marie, as well as a black & white photography magazine that I knew she wanted and couldn't find (go me, I actually found it!), lunch...
We also went into a vintage clothing shop (god, I love those) and I found a few things that I wanted to try on. (They were cheap, too. Love cheap clothes.) We had to wait forever for this guy to get out of the changing room. At one point I turned towards it and my eyes almost bulged out of my head - the curtain was too narrow for the doorway, and I could see him changing. He was trying on trousers. He had on NO UNDERWEAR. Ewwww, I really didn't need to see some random fat guy's balls today. That was definitely not on my to-do list. *shudders* In any case, he finally got out (and, by the way, how wrong is it to try on trousers without wearing anything underneath? Yuck.) So, we went in and tried stuff on. And this is really exciting - the trousers that I really wanted fit. Whoa. That rarely happens, since they're always too long for me. And - get this! - so did that shirt. Wow. Heh. So, yes, that made me quite happy, and, since they were cheap, I bought them. So, ha. Now I have cool trousers and a shirt. Hey, whatever works...
So, we walked around for a really, really long time. We also looked into body jewelry places, since Theresa and I are planning on getting piercings next week. Yeah. She's most likely going to get a labret, and I'm getting my belly button pierced. Wheeee, I can't wait. I know that it'll hurt, and I won't be able to sleep on my stomach for a long time (which is how I normally sleep), but I've wanted this for a while now. And it's cheaper here than in the States. I want to get an eyebrow ring as well, but we figured that my mom will have a hard enough time getting used to a hole in my belly. So, I will prepare her slowly. I will get the eyebrow piercing in January.
In any case, I did something today. Something productive. (I applied for more than one job, obviously - I'm just hoping for the bead one...a lot...) I feel a bit better now.
Oh, and I finally found a cheap phonecard. I can call the States now. If anybody wants to chat...heh. Well, hell, let me know.
Tomorrow - CoS. Oh, yeah! I am very excited. I promise not to spoil it for those of you who are planning on seeing it Friday. Ah, Friday... Friday is, incidentally, Carrie's birthday. Hmmmm... I think a phonecall is in order. Oh, man, I miss her.
And I will go now.
A Great Big "Hi" to my fellow Ghosts. You guys are really wonderful. Siriusly.

No Undies Guy is icky. Piercings can be very cool.
And missing people SUX, but see the new friends you've made already? It'll be fine. And now you've got the phonecard to talk to 'em, too. :)

Yes, I do have great friends - and I love it. Yay! :)

Wee!
And go navel piercings! They are a lot cheaper in the UK--that's where I got mine, too! Must be something in the water. ;-) Sleeping on stomach-down actually wasn't too much of a problem. It was tight waistbands for me... and, well, certain activities. Just keep it clean (if you can't get Bactine, they sell something over there that's both a mouthwash and an antiseptic. Go figure), and it should heal up real nice. Mine was sore for ages, though.
Oh, and I hope you do get to Stonehenge sometime. It's incredible.
Re: Wee!
Yes, I am very excited about this piercing. I know it'll be a pain to keep clean, etc, but, hey it's worth it. And, um, well, I don't really have to worry about certain activites. Damn. I do like the fact that I'll be able to sleep on my stomach at some point...
Thanks for the tips! :)
Re: Wee!
No clue why I got the piercing. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I gained a few pounds (and the boyfriend, ironically) a few months after getting it, so I don't show it off nearly as much as I used to (I can't believe I actually owned a tube top, let alone wore it...).
By the way, there are a few really good sites with piercing info. Rings of Desire, and SafePiercing.Org are the two I remember off the top of my head.
Happy perforation!

Hey, go for it with the piercings! That will be so cool! Then you can tell me how badly it hurts, so I'll know if I want to do it. I'm still working up the courage for a tattoo though, so piercing might be out of the question. On top of that, I'd like to have my eyebrow pierced and we both know that ain't gonna happen...... :-( Your mom will deal with it--she needs to realize that you are an adult now and able to make your own decisions. If nothing else, she'll get used to it. (Bet you wish *I* was your mom ::snerk::)
And ohhhh, *gross*!! The Fat Naked Guy! Not a mental image that I need. That's just.....yuck. I used to love looking at the thrift stores for clothes when I was in college--you can find some great things for pretty cheap. Unfortunately, my taste in vintage now runs more to such things that I can't exactly wear all the time. Like old clothes from the turn of the century that require corsets and such. Not something that is all that practical for going to the market....
Hope Marie gets better soon so that you all can go see Stonehenge. I would imagine that it is simply breathtaking.

I think you should get a tattoo. No, really. Just pick out a design that you really really like - and that you will continue to like. So that you, you know, don't get sick of it. ;)
Corsets, huh? Sexaaaaaay! ;) Nice. And I hope that you find the stiletto boots that you really wanted in your size. Because you deserve to have stiletto boots. Oh, yes you do.
*much love*

Oh, gods, I love my corset! I wore it just the other night to a semi-formal affair thing, and it's simply amzing how small you can get your waist, providing that you don't mind a little bit of pain. Also, it's rather a good diet item, since you can't eat or drink all that much when you've got it properly tightened. And, it does make you feel sexy!
As far as the stiletto boots--I agree, I *do* deserve some, dammit! (The problem is, finding some place to wear such things to; it's not like I have much of a social life, especially one that requires stiletto boots! ;-D) However, the smallest size they had was a 6 and I wear a 2--no amount of stuffing shoved into the toes of that boot will make it snug enough, believe me. And they were *so* damn sexy too! I hate having mutant feet.....
::hugs:: You always know how to make me feel good about myself, dear! Love you lots!

and I don't know why but I miss you a lot
then we should talk more! :-D

You are so cool, hehehe. I just hope for you that it won't get infected. Belly is cool, eyebrow sounds more painful to me. Imagine turning on this side of the face in the night... - but I'm just a whiny little Hobbit, so don't listen to me *g*
My brother and his wife got lots of piercings about a year ago and now they have about half of them left ;)
Make sure to post pics of the piercings (at least of the eyebrow one, if you don't want to show us your belly ;)) :-)))
