On It Being Way Too Fucking Early.

Outtake?

There was an OUTTAKE?!?!

This is what happens when I forget to go the AtE group for a month. There are sex outtakes. Dammit, I want to read it now, but I can't!!!

Oh, well. It'll just be a happy something to come back to.

Yes.

Hmmmmmm...

'Ere I leave to lose myself entirely in London's Christmas Shopping Season (be afraid...be very afraid...) I want to make this point, and have you all expound upon it -

I strongly dislike it (read: hatehatehate) when people (stupid 14 year olds and stupider 30 year olds who should really know better) say that they are not homophobic and have gay friends (they know a friend of a friend of a friend who who is in a same-sex relationship), yet don't really like the idea of slash (ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!) in fanfiction. God forbid they expand their horizons a little more. And no, of COURSE, JKR doesn't want any gay characters in her books, after all, who would want the books to resemble REAL LIFE?! SHOCKER! And, it isn't as if she is an OPEN-MINDED person who was involved with AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL, and whose entire point is that our society is too PREJUDICED!

Discuss.

Ooh, London shopping. Whee.

And I can just about get it if someone tries reading some slash but it just doesn't do anything for them - I may be astounded, but hey, whatever floats their boat. But making a huge thing about how they're not homophobic but then refusing to read any ever and how it totally goes against everything in the books and stuff... well, gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah just about sums up my reaction.

*love*

London shopping was not wheee. It was not wheee in the least, since the trains to London have conspired against all those trying to get into (and out of) that very city. London shopping ended in pissy moods, tears and lots and lots of FUCKING CURSING!!!

But we had a really nice meal in a really nice Indian restaurant!

Ahem.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah is just about right. And I am astounded every time, as well. How can slash not be enjoyed? How? How?!

Heh. I love you, my wonderful sappy perv.

*huge pervy hugs* ;)

Dude. I read those posts. I was angry. I am very annoyed with everything about that poster. I don't believe her for a second when she says she has gay friends. Then she shouldn't EVER say such a stupid thing.

ARGH.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2002-12-08 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
eXACTLY!

See, what I should have also mentioned was the fact that those people swear they're not homophobes, but don't want to see anything - anything - remotely having to do with gay relationships. "I'm ok with gay people! As long as I don't have to see/hear/know anything about it, to protect my virgin ears." You fucking hypocrite. Hypocrite and liar.

You ROX the house, dude. I have wanted to tell you that for a while, now is as good a time as any. You go.

I *heart* you Liz.

I had to PM you with the rest of my comments. *cof*NotForPublicConsumption*cof*

Hmph. I don't read slash when it's marked as such because Nine Times Out of Ten it's explicit sex scenes, and uggh to that. I don't read het sex either. I do, however, love R/S in AtE and R/S in Unknown Want, and slash that shows a relationship. And saying Ewwww to slash isn't terribly effective. I *do* have gay friends, and I firmly believe that same sex relationships are just as valid (sometimes more so) than heterosexual relationships. And anyone who thinks otherwise needs to spend a day with a gay person, because most of them are absolute darlings. And that is all I have to say on the matter.

Have fun in London! I'm going London shopping on 21st - heaven help us all, it will be rammed. BUt that's half the fun, isn't it?

:o)

Hmmmm... See, I would have to disagree with you here. A lot of slash centers on relationships - whether it's R/S, or H/D, or whatever. It's not all sex all the time - that's a misconception that a lot of fanfiction readers have, actually. Having said that...I have no problem with PWP's, as long as they're well-written! Ahem.

Ah, well. London was horrible (not because it was London, but because it was That Kind of Day) but I am happy to be back. Thank GOD.

Wait, so why can't you read the sex outtakes now? Is it because you're not on your own computer? Is there anything I can help with? Emailing it to you? Posting it on your LJ comments paragraph by pragraph? What?

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2002-12-08 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
All good! It's open even as we speak!

And, DAMN, you're right - Ron, you animal! ROOOWR. Thanks for the tip-off, by the way - and the willingness to be my smut-provider! ;)

I sympathise with Ginny. I am an impatient person myself...

Ah, the outtake. Ron. Roooon. ;) Ok. Anyway. Moving on!

Yes, that's incredibly annoying. For me, it's all about the characters. I may hate H/D (and I do ;D), but it's not because it's SLASH. It's because I don't like the pairing. ::shrug:: That's basically the same rant as my 'I can't stand Willow/Tara but that doesn't make me homophobic' rant in the Buffy fandom. No one listens to that rant either. Heh.
