SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I got a JOB, people, a JOB! After two months of searching and tearing out my hair and clawing out my eyeballs, I finally got a job! Granted, it's only for the next month a and a half, but hey, it's something! And it's such an awesome place - a new coffee shop is opening up, and the two owners are very cool - they're both in their late 20's, early 30's, a lot of fun, interesting, laidback and yet full of energy (and coffee!). They said they hired people not based on experience, but on a general attitude, and how they would fit in with the place. They wanted people with lots of energy who also gave off a certain fun vibe - I guess going there three or four times to find out how the process is going has paid off. ;) I thought I was just being annoying...heh.

Oh my God, I am so so so excited!... And the people that I'm going to be working with are all very cool, too - I mean, two of them actually knew who Tom Waits was! Now, that's not something I expect out of Long Islanders... (no offense to anyone)

Ohhh, this is so cool! Now, if only it would cool the fuck down outside... Fans don't help much and I'm about to melt. I think I'll go off and draw more stuff from Linenverse for Bally. She got me all excited...

*sigh* 'Tis a good day.

Yaaaahhhhh!! I told you that you'd get that job! Shows that they have good taste in the hiring of their employees, IMHO. Would that I lived around there so that I could pop in occasionally.

I wish it would cool off here too--it's Minnesota for fuck's sake! It's not *supposed* to be hot! If I'd wanted heat and humidity like this, I would have moved to New Orleans.

::ponders:: Well, I did want to move to New Orleans, but now that I'm here, I *would* like to enjoy the cooler weather that should be prevalent up in the north. ::grumble, grumble::

Hope it cools off for you soon! And congrats again on the job--you'll be great at it with your fun personality

"Yeaaaahhhh!" is right! :) I haven't told you this yet, because I haven't had a chance to answer your email, but I'm so glad you're back! A weekend without you is no fun. So, yeaaahhh! :) And, oh I do wish you could stop by! I *know* you would love that place - and for some odd reason, New Orleans had been mentioned more than a few times during the orientation. I thought of you. :) (And I also fondly remembered New Orleans...)

And, yes, god, please let it cool off! This whole global warming thing is not something I want to ponder...or experience. Bah.

Yay, you're back. :)

Yep, I'm back. Just like a bad penny--you can't get rid of me.

It does sound like a wonderful job, and you should be able to meet some very interesting people. I'm sure that I would love it. I adore going to coffee shops with a good book, a big cup of latte and people-watch. It's great. And, I *love* doing that when I'm in New Orleans. You never know what kind of people you'll see there, and it's fun to imagine what their lives are like.

Yes, I'm sure that I could sit in your little shop for quite some time.

Thanks for the welcome back! I miss you as well. I need to get a laptop for when I go on dog show weekends, but then again, the rattrap hotels I usually stay at don't have internet connections! Hell, I'm lucky if they even have a damn clock, which is why I always carry my own along with me!
