On Assholes, Movies, and First Kisses.
So, I would like to kill Hollywood Video. Am so annoyed. I really really wanted to see "Maurice", based on E.M. Forster's book (just read it, while in Italy), but none of the stores that I have gone to have had it. I think I will go for Blockbuster next, because, dammit, now I am just determined. I wonder if it's because it's a "gay" movie? Hmmmm... Am angry. And I do recommend the book. It can be very frustrating (like, the middle. I almost didn't finish it, but made myself, and was very glad I did) but it's good.
Interesting bit of trivia: it wasn't published till he died. That man was so deep in the closet, it's unbelievable. Supposedly, the circle that he was a part of was actually very open, and there were quite a few out-of-the-closet people, but he never really came out. (Well, probably to them, but nevertheless.)
I'm still trying to figure out a way to get pissed on New Year's, because there will be little excitement to be had. (Although, I have a feeling I will get a LoTR calendar. Whoohoo.)
Sidenote: P.J. Harvey's "Catherine" is a beautiful, beautiful song.
Anyway, yeah, hmmm. Will figure something out. Also hope that a certain someone does what we discussed on New Year's. ;) You know you want to...
Oh! Almost forgot -
moeyknight, got your card, thank you so much! It was lovely. Yay. :) And also got a card from a certain Prince that almost made me cry. But you already knew that. *mwah*
And a big, fat PHOOOOOOEY on those rat bastards that told us that Sir Ian had been cast as Dumbledore. Fuckers. And I got my hopes up... *sigh*
And, now...
I. YOUR FIRST KISS:
a. How old were you? 15
b. Where did it happen? Movie theatre, how predictable. However, the movie was “Amistad”… Go figure.
c. When did it happen? around Christmas time, 1997
d. Who initiated the kiss? He did, but I wasn’t about to complain.
e. Was there a second kiss with that same person later? Yes. He was a nice boy, and looked like Eric from “That 70’s Show”.

cokerry, maybe?.. I dunno…
III. THE BEST TIMES
a. What were the circumstances of the best kiss you ever shared with anyone? I think it was actually when I was fifteen, with the same boy as above, at a Christmas party at his grandmother’s country club. We went upstairs, sat on this comfy couch, looked at stars and kissed. It was really nice.
b. Briefly describe the best date you ever had. This wasn’t a date, but right before I left for England, Sam and I walked down to the beach. It was warm, and I wet my feet in the water. I had found a really nice quartz stone and took it with me, to remember. We were really peaceful, finally. It was…it was good.

V. OTHER ROMANTIC STUFF
a. What's the most romantic season? Spring.
b. What's your favorite romantic movie? Actually “The Ref”, because they were willing to work out all the shit that had built up over the years. Call me silly, but that’s real romance.
c. Who is the best leading man in romantic movies? Ummm…Colin Firth, maybe?
d. Who is the best leading woman in romance movies? I dunno…Meg Ryan sure as hell as done a lot of them… *rolls eyes*
e. Who is the most romantic TV couple? Will and Jack. No, I’m kidding. I haven’t watched TV in so long, I honestly haven’t a clue.
f. What's your favorite romantic song? “San Diego Serenade”, by Tom Waits.
g. If you could take a boy/girlfriend to any country in the world for a weekend of romance, what country would you choose? Italy. Sam is so coming with me next time. There’s also Ireland. *cackles* What say you, Jadis? *cackles more*

Or, maybe not romantic in the traditional sense. But I love the idea of love. Does that make sense? Okay, examples: I watch the West Wing just to see when Donna and Josh are finally going to get together. Ditto for Alias. Oh, wow, and the number of past boyfriends I went through. And, please, the R/H. The first and most important reason to be an HP fanatic. If I was going to write my memoirs it would be called "Romance Junkie." Or something.
P.S. I love Orlando's butt too :)

Oh, and doesn't he have a lovely behind, though? *sigh*

But until then, weloveorlandosbutt....

yeah, we'll see how far I get. It's just one of those books that I feel I have to read, you know? So far, I like it, but I am at the very beginning, and it's taking me an uncharacteristically long time to read. And, yeah, I never even got through the Hobbit, so...
But until then, weloveorlandosbutt....
Oh, we really do, don't we? He is lovely...oh, so lovely... *sigh*
