On random things...

Well, I am back. Back in England, back online after a very short hiatus (shouldn't even be counted as such, but I was unable to Ghost, so I think it counts), back to - sort of - normal.

Right now instead of putting my room back in order, I am idling time away online. But that is ok. It's not like my room won't be finished by tonight, anyway - I know it will. But I just feel like hanging out here for a short little while.

The plane was delayed by three - count 'em - three hours, therefore poor Theresa had to wait extra three hours for me at the airport, after having got up at 5:30. I felt extremely bad - especially since she needed to get back in time for her class. But everything went fine after that, and she made it, no problems. Marie's getting back tomorrow - we'll see her when she gets in on the train. I've already done some of what needed to be done - picked up my loan cheque, figured out my timetable, applied for a job, and picked up FoTR at the library. All in all, pretty damn productive, though probably not productive enough. Oi.

Main Objectives of Term:

- GET A JOB
- not to procrastinate
- do absolutely all the work that I have to for my classes

Here's a kicker - it turns out that I have picked two very similar classes without realizing it. And now am not sure what to do about it. I mean, I could get rid of one of them, but I don't know what I can take in its place. Argh. I took "Concept of 'the Self' in Literature" and, umm, a psychology course called, funnily enough, "Concepts of the Self". O_o Am I trying to tell myself something? I should, in all honesty, get rid of the Lit course, since I am a psych major, but waaaaaah, I don't wannaaaaaaaaaaa, I want to take it. Dammit. I'll have to mull this over in my head tonight, figure out what I can take, and such. But, hurrah, I AM finally taking Philosophy of Language. Of course that means that dreaded word - ESSAYS - but it should be really interesting. Definitely interesting.

Bored yet? Yeah, I know...

But I'm reading a book that I'm enjoying greatly, which I probably should have already read by now - by now, meaning by 20 - but somehow never found the motivation. I think spending close to 12 hours on a trip (the actual kind, not the acid kind) is motivation enough, besides, I really do like it. It's Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead", and it's definitely not what one would call a usual idealistic novel. She was (is?) Russian, apparently, an immigrant, and she hated all things Communist and the ideals that came with that. (Can't say I blame her...) So, this book is idealizing something quite the opposite. But not quite. Ah, hell, I won't even try to explain, but I'm sure you've heard about her, at least a little bit.

And added to that, am also reading "Lord of the Rings" - which is a total opposite, and I like that I have a variety. Heh. I'm enjoying both for different reasons, and it's great.

I am such a sap. Today, as I woke up from my short nap on the plane, we were flying right above Cork, in Ireland, and I almost dropped my pillow. I really wanted to be down there. Maybe not in Cork, but somewhere in Ireland. Actually, I know exactly where and with whom. But that will have to wait till Spring. And then when we were flying over England, I almost cried. Cried, people. Wow. I didn't realize how much I'd missed it...

Saying good-bye to Sam wasn't easy, and he stood there until I was way past the security. (And after I was done tying up my docs - note to self: do not wear boots on trips that require security checks.) It was nice to have him there until the end, but it was, quite obviously, rather sad. But we'll see each other again. In the meantime, things will just go on. Yes.

Oh, and, of course - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sugar Quill!. I know I'm a day late, but better late than never! And YOU ALL are simply amazing! Wow. Wow-wow-wow. That was truly a wonderful tribute, one that I shall peruse with much pleasure in the coming hours.

And I cannot believe this:

*CRAX up* Great. I am now the site's OFFICIAL pervert!

You know? I think I likes that. A lot.

Arooo.

The Quill. Wow. Really, there are no words, so I won't even try. But the Headmistresses, Administration, rest of the faculty, my fellow Ghosts, everyone - you are wonderful, wonderful people, and my gratitude to you for making this little corner in the huge room of the fandom such a pleasure to reside in.

AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hee, I was wondering when you'd find the official perv button. It's perfect, isn't it? :D

And I am incredibly glad you're back. *hugs*

Oh yeah, and planning a sappy summit sounds like a plan only a genius such as yourself could come up with. ARRRRRROOOOOOO! :)

*grins* Yeah. It is. Hee...

oh, but of course! Well, then, here's the deal - I have a very, VERY long Spring break. Five days of that will be the NY GALs (w00t!), then at SOME point, Jadis will come up and we'll go swimming in Ireland. Anything else - up in the air. Let's plan. :)

Welcome back! And good luck with this semester's goals.

Yes, Ayn Rand is dead and has been for a while. But there's still an Objectivist Institute to further her goals. Also, I believe "The Fountainhead" was made into a movie in the 50s or 60s starring Gregory Peck.

Ah, thank you. They might sound easy...but I am rather set in my procrastinating ways...it'll be a challenge. *sigh*

Cannot see Gregory Peck as Roark. Too...moralistic, or something. In a very different way. Objectivist Institute? Huh. I think I've heard of it. I'm still debating in my head where I stand on the issue - but I will definitely continue reading the book, it's extremely interesting - and entertaining. And thought-provoking, which I always enjoy in a book...hmmm...yeah.

Anywho.

Thanks. :)

AROOOOOOOOO!

Yes, go read LOTR. Ayn Rand I'm a bit more ambivalent about, but it's good to read her even if you don't turn out to agree with her world view.

Mind you, you're the site's official pervert, the rest of us are just regular, ordinary perverts. :)

*goes back to forging mayhem in the Cracks of Mount Doom*

Yeah, exactly. :)

Does that mean that I get my own army of Perverts? Eh, eh? Kinda like the army of 'pretty boys', as Minx put it, at Helm's Deep?

Ready...draw...charge!

Let the, er, sword-fighting begin...

Ok, I swear, I'm stopping. *cackles*
