Re-reading PoA, it occurs to me that Sirius slashes a lot in that book. Due to his inability to get close to Remus through most of it, however, he slashes odd things, like portraits and bed curtains.

I feel that his leave to lie low at Remus's may come useful. He will remember what human slashing feels like.
