Hurrah! The essay (or, rather, lack thereof) thing seems to be working out. I had my evidence hearing today, and the lady was very nice (and very sympathetic) and now all I need is for the nurse to change the note a bit, and I'm all set. It won't count against me. Phew.
You know how your body forgets pain? Well, mine didn't, at first at least. When I started feeling better, I would just suddenly kind of jolt and go: "wow, I am not in pain! That's so cool!" That's never happened to me before. Must have been really bad, I suppose.

Yes, those of you who are living in the Northeast to mid-Atlantic in the States should feel free to hit me over the head with a snow shovel. Maybe even run me over with a snowplow. I'm feeling extra generous today.

(Anonymous) 2003-02-17 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)Well, I mentioned this one on the R/S thread at Sugarquill awhile back, but I strongly recommend "Time after Time," by Eva Cassidy. Everytime I hear it I think of R/S. Get the Eva Cassidy rendition -- NOT the Cyndi Lauper one. Eva does some beautiful cover songs and often times they are better than the original. If you like "Time after Time," also check out her cover of Sting's "Fields of Gold." Her voice is amazing.
I hope you hear back from Jamie O'Neill. I checked his website. He's coming to San Francisco in March I believe. I'm hoping I'll have time to stop by and see him.

I love those statements that just speak for themselves.

Heh. And here I thought you were basing your entire R/S premise on happy peppy music!
But did I ever tell you about the post on a list which will remain anonymous in which someone suggested that Remus would listen to "happy 80s music" like Wham! and Katrina and the Waves?
You mentioned it on Jadis's LJ once, and I'm still shuddering. There's only one thing that's more wrong than that, and that's a straight Remus. Maybe they're on par, I still haven't decided. That's just...yeah. Those statements. Exactly.

Thanks for the list! You're much more organized than I am. I know that I knew more than six songs, but poof (indeed) they just up and left. *sigh*

But, with all of the traveling I do, I listen to loads of music and I am always thinking "oh, that would be *perfect* for the boys!" And yes, the lyrics to "Your Wildest Dreams" were in ACAL--that's the song Remus heard on Bill's radio. The song just *fit* so beautifully. And, of course, I have loved that song for many years.
