It's boring, it's predictable, they have no chemistry and oh, yeah, John's gay.

*sporfle*

Which pairings will never ever leave your heart, even if you may sometimes stray off the beaten path? Which pairings wig you out no matter how hard you try not to let them?

Hm, interesting. A random sampling from among my fandoms:

A-Team
OTP: Face/Murdock. There's no other.
Of the scarybadwrong: Hannibal/BA, maybe because both of those characters read really straight, maybe because they did such a crap job of characterizing BA as anything but a cartoon. Just. No.

due South
OTP: Fraser/Kowalski, though I'll occasionally stray with Ray/Ray (and I'm SAD the whole time, but it works, god, it works in a fucked up way).
Of the scarybadwrong: Uh, Turnbull/anybody? Maybe that's just since the Torri Spelling thing. *shudder*

SGA
OTP: John/Rodney (duh), and I can't really see them with anyone else, though I have read other pairings with them by good authors. Because Teyla with a strap-on? I can so see John being the bottom in that relationship.
Of the scarybadwrong: Uh, yeah, I have to admit I can't see John/Elizabeth, or John/anyone with a vagina, to be honest (unless it's genderfucked Rodney). And I'm surprisingly resistant to OT4 team fic - it's just not one of my things. But I can put together Elizabeth with just about anyone else - Ronon, Radek, Lorne, Caldwell, Teyla - and I've written more different pairings in this fandom than in any other (four and counting). I can see Ronon/Teyla, Beckett/Teyla, etc., ad nauseum. It's a flexible fandom.

Harry Potter
OTP: I got into this fandom while I was still slowly converting to slash, and so I started out in Snape/Hermione and only got into Snape/Harry after that. Snape is kind of the little black dress of fandom, but I don't easily see him with other characters, even Draco.
Of the scarybadwrong: Hagrid/anybody. It scares me. And Weasleycest. Can't go there.
