O.o
So, I went to see OotP again today, this time with
mayatawi.
And this is the most profound thought I came away with:
Holy shit, I found Doyler.
THINK ABOUT IT. He's Irish! He's young! He's got a slightly weird-ass slap-dash face! He can do "untucked and annoyed"! Find me a Jim RIGHT NOW, PEOPLE. (And if you find MacEmm while you're at it...send him my way first.)
Seriously. Think about it.
Oh, and also:
Harry, being inspirational in the end: "We have something that Voldemort doesn't."
Maya, leaning over: "NOSES."
PWN3D.

But now my personal MacEmm (Rupert Everett) is too old and tightened by cosmetic surgery, alas... Not to mention off-puttingly self-important in RL. Hmm.
So OotP was good? I'm wondering whether to go.
Boy Butter, HAHA.
I definitely think it's a MUCH better movie than the last, and the distance between the book and it helped with my enjoyment. There are some absolutely stand-out things about - like Luna, and YES, Gary Oldman. Something about him reconciled him as Sirius in my head. I just adored him. I'm as shocked as the next person who knew me when PoA came out. *g*
(Rupert Everett is sadly too old and off-putting now. Which is such a shame, because just look at my icon. How perfect would that have been?)
I love that big macho Boy Butter arm.
I just hated OotP (the book) so much, but if you liked it... I can always blame you if it's crap. :)
Re: I love that big macho Boy Butter arm.
Same here! I didn't want to see it, but then was persuaded to - and it was really, really worth it. They cut it down a lot, and changed a few things around, but - for the most part - all for the best. A lot less emo!Harry, a lot less crazy!Sirius, and just the barest hint of all. And you can definitely blame it on me if you hate it. :D (I think the key to this movie was getting rid of Steve Kloves.)

And... NOSES. AHAHAHAHA.
