In other news: I'm a little weak this morning, because I - dun dun dun! - went to the gym! That's right - I joined a gym (with a corporate discount, ftw) and went for the first time today. I was meant to have one of two complimentary training sessions this morning, but that got canceled, and I need to reschedule it. BUT, I decided to fuck it, and go on my own ANYWAY. I, obviously, have NO idea what the hell I'm doing, so I will be seeking those two sessions regardless, BUT. It felt good! I was a total mess, trying to figure out my locker, and how I will fit stuff in it, and how to organize myself. It was embarrassing, really, though I am 100% sure nobody actually cared. It's a gym for women, which - honestly, it helps. I feel a little less self-conscious than I did when I worked out back in school, with all these huge guys pumping their iron and admiring their muscles in the mirror. Also, I give less of a damn now, which is a nice thing to realize. \o/
I battled with myself a little this morning about whether or not to go, but it was easy to convince myself I would feel REALLY REALLY GUILTY if I didn't. Jewishness for the win! So I went. (My mom's eyes bugged out a little when she saw the time I was leaving, but I was totally awake and READY, dammit.) And I'm very glad I did. Now, all my toiletries are in my locker, as are my gym shoes, and I feel a little better about the whole thing. Yay. *is mighty*
I want to carve out a time to write up all our New Orleans adventures, and post pictures, and all that kind of fun stuff, but having been away from work for five days, I can't really afford to take up much more time on this right now. SIGH. But EVENTUALLY, I will write it all out. Because - vacation with Tracey in New Orleans! For the win.
