And the book I am reading because of that class (the first two chapters were assigned! ...the next twelve were not, but I read them anyways, because I'm great) makes me flail and squeak and babble and reminds me, yet again, that I am where I belong.

I just woke up from a dream about Jamia and the twins. I am not making this up. She was meeting some of us at a fan meet up at a rly nice grocery store/high end market and we got this cake for her and there was a part of it that wasn't right and while we waited we lovingly vied for the right to clear off the bad part of the cake (I got to do it). And I don't think she ever got there in the dream, but the whole thing was imbued with her loveliness and graciousness that she would come introduce the babies to us. Really; it was so wonderful.

I also just loved in the interview how Gerard does't seem to mock Mikey for the D and D thing. It would have been so easy to be the cooler older brother there and he never seems to succumb to that temptation.

I'm happy that fall tv is back, so I have lots to watch on tivo this weekend.

Though, true confessions: SN is the only Sorkin show I've ever actually seen. But I have seen it COUNTLESS times and I love it wholly and completely. I can not hear the song "Boogie Shoes" without thinking of Dana. I can not see Josh Charles or Peter Krause without thinking of Dan and Casey. It is irrevocably in my brain forever and ever the end.

oh, I highly recommend The West Wing too...it's got its not-great parts in the later seasons, ngl, but it's still collectively one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. but yyyyy, seriously, I will never not be epically in love with SN and the characters and the dialogue and the everything. &them;

BUT REALLY. More than anything else. LIZ. What is making my Thursday-joyful is Gerard explaining WHY this album is about light. YES YES YES. I feel like, in the last three years, that's also what MY life has been like -- okay there is a lot of shit going on in the world that sucks, I've been through hard times, but I'm going to deal with it by surrounding myself by BIG BRIGHT PLAYFUL music and attitudes and clothing and barefoot dance parties in parks. We NEED to be able to play, not just because it helps us balance the heavy emotions of our ecological/economic/social crises but because it encourages us to learn from how KIDS handle the world: with optimism, bright smiles, imagination, and a sense of humour. SO ANYWAY. GERARD. THANK YOU. I absolutely feel every word he said come through loud and clear in the music and the video -- and just because it's playful and bright doesn't make it any less powerful or meaningful. <33333333 I JUST. Their music never ~spoke to me in the past, because I was always in a really bright place and theirs was pretty dark, and now it is like IT WAS MADE FOR ME. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD BRINGING THE SUN CLOSER.

YES EVERYTHING EVER ABOUT FRANK.

AND THEY ARE BRINGING THE SUN CLOSER. I didn't have quite the same experience as you because part of me is RIGHT ON IN IT with each of their albums. But I could not love their new sound and style and message MORE. It is perfect and what it says to me is that THEY are happy and that is coming through but even though they're happy they still have something to SAY and they are SAYING IT and I COULD NOT LOVE THEM MORE.

YES YES YES. And how they want to take time off between albums to LIVE THEIR LIVES so they can write about those. And they're having WIVES AND BABIES and they're still four basement dorks from Jersey that are fascinated with death and fantasy and the ugly parts of real life and this time they want to explore it by CELEBRATING it and RIDICULING it all at the same time, and I looooove it so hard.
