mrsronweasley: (MCR - i've got a secret)

My Chem Chicago tickets for sale! :D?

Heeeeey-yo, so! Since My Chemical Romance were kind enough to announce that they're PLAYING THE MOTHERFUCKING EAST COAST IN EXACTLY A MONTH, [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl and I made the most ADULT decision to scrap the Chicago plans and go to New York, instead! \o/\o/\o/

Which means we are currently hanging onto TWO MCR @ the House of Blues, Chicago tickets - December 15th!

We'd like to sell them for face value, no fees, which is $33 per ticket. The tickets are GA.

If you know anybody who wants them, PLEASE send them our way! Spread the word! They can contact me at mrsronweasley @ yahoo.com.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you! :D

haha - dude, ALL I got out of this was YAY NEW YORK!!!

what are the dates of the concert? where are they playing? and most importantly, WILL I GET TO SEE YOUR FACES???

*beams*

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
RIGHT? It's on Friday, Dec. 3rd! I - don't know what our plans are besides SEEING THE BOYS. we are still figuring out ~logistics! BUT I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE YOUR FACE. WE SHOULD MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

[identity profile] estrella30.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. when you figure it out let me know! even if you need a place to crash that night and then food the next day before heading back. OR WHATEVER. YOU LET ME KNOW.

(where are they playing, btw?)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Roseland Ballroom! SMALL VENUE! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

[identity profile] estrella30.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
roseland is awesome! I've seen a few shows there. definitely a first come first serve for as far as where you're standing. there's no seating and it's not a terribly big place so get there early and get in line to get yourself a good spot up front by the stage (if that's what you want to do. I generally get myself space at the bar far away from the stage and just watch from a distance, but that's just me. *koff*)

I might be getting my places confused but I dont even think there's any upstairs standing area. and whatever the show time is listed as, THAT'S pretty much when it starts. I remember me and rob totally MISSING a show there years ago because we figured, oh, its a club! they're not going to go on till 11! and when we got there the show was OVER, lol. so yeah. pay attention to the times, lol!

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
dude, YAY and THANK YOU. this is GOOD INFO. I am - STUPIDLY excited, SERIOUSLY. I cannot WAIT. and YAY for standing room/starting time info - I am not used to this thing! There is not a lot of SHOVING at FOLK CONCERTS.

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)

I think you may be confusing it with another venue - there is definitely an upstairs standing area, although it's not very big. You're right about times, though - while I doubt MCR will start on time, you definitely want to get there when the doors open or earlier, since it'll be a big crowd, no question!

[identity profile] estrella30.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, I couldnt remember off hand if there was an upstairs or not. I always get roseland and irving plaza confused in my head until I actually walk into the place and am like, Oh, yeah, its THIS one! I dont think I've actually ever gone upstairs at roseland for any reason which is why I guess in my head it doesnt exist, lol.

and yeah, YEARS ago my husband and I went to see Rancid there and figured, punk band, Roseland, there's no WAY they're going on early. we got there at 11 and the place was emptying out and we totally missed the show. so crazy!

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, at the concert I was at a couple of weeks ago (which Kris Allen opened for, the reason I was there lol), you had to have a special GA ticket to get upstairs - it can be a better view, I think, but you're a lot farther away.

Doors for this concert are at 7 p.m., and I'd guess that the first act won't go on until 8 p.m.

[identity profile] estrella30.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I think a lot of times the upstairs areas are more for like, vip or something. totally OT, but have you been to a show at Terminal 5 at all? we went there a few months back and its awesome and they've been getting amazing shows there recently. HUGE place but set up very cool and an awesome vibe there. I said to my husband that it was definitely the kind of place that I wish was around 10-15 years ago when I was able to stand up all night and get drunk in clubs, lol.

(also, how was kris allen when you saw him at roseland? I'm guessing he was adorable and fantastic like always, but was curious *g*)

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! What did I see at Terminal 5 - oh right The Scissor Sisters! That was awesome. I totally agree about the vibe, too - kind of old school, you know?

My favorite GA spot in Manhattan is probably the Nokia, even though it's really corporate feeling - the sightlines are awesome, and the two levels of GA really helps, and there's seating in the back so people who aren't up for the crazy GA experience can still go and have a good time.

Kris was great! It was weird seeing him as an opener, since the crowd wasn't entirely his crowd, if that makes sense, but a bunch of us were clearly there for him, and he and his band had a great time up there. Give him another hit single and a second album and he'll be the main act at venues that size, no question. Also HOLY SHIT but he is so fucking hot, I can't even. Tight little jeans and his shirt kept riding up, and oh my god his ARMS.

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
have you ever been to the Roseland Ballroom? ANY INFORMATION on the venue would be v.v. helpful!

and THANK YOU SO MUCH. we are working things out today! I will be emailing you SOON!

Hily mother of god, dec 3 is my birthday! I was just at the roseland a couple of weeks ago. Small venue. Standing only. Its great...

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh, COOL. I love the positive feedback on the venue - I WORRY about stuff like this!

and yay, they are playing on your bday! are you going?
ext_418351: (frankie_smile_dd)

[identity profile] mylittlehottie.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
oh i'm definitely going. lol, i'm at work now trying to sign up for livenation fan club to get early sale tickets. if that doesn't work, i'll be at my computer at 12 AM friday till i get tickets. and yes, the line was long for lifehouse/kris allen. i waited about 2 hours, but did get fairly close to the front. they did sell VIP tickets to that and if i can get those this time i will. there was a section to the side that was above floor level. i imagine the floor is going to be crazy! lol, i'm alot older than the average fan and not sure i can hold my own in a front roe free for all...

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just there like two weeks ago! I AM SO EXCITED MCR ARE PLAYING THERE, I CANNOT EVEN DEAL.

Okay, so it's a big open venue, with a GA floor and then a balcony. My understanding from the way Ticketmaster is set up is that you either have a GA Floor ticket or a GA balcony ticket. The overhang isn't substantial though, so most of the floor gives you a wide angle view of the stage. The floor is longer than deep - there's the front section of the floor, then a little ledge where the sound crew is, and then a back section which is raised a bit so you can see over the sound crew, but that part of the floor is under the overhang.

It has a standing capacity of around 3,200 people for both levels. There is a bench for seating along the house right wall, but that's under the overhang and not a great view, in my opinion - not worth staking it out. At the concert I was at a few weeks ago, people got there, got their spots on the floor and then just sat down until the openers started. People weren't too pushy but it was a VERY VERY different crowd than a MCR concert, so.

The concert I saw there had a line outside that was longer than I expected, and I'm sure that MCR will obvs be longer, with more hardcore peeps holding down the fort. It snaked down one block, up an avenue block and then around the corner a bit. I expect that MCR's line will be a full city block long by the time doors open, if not longer, based on other NYC concerts I've been to recently.

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I expect that MCR's line will be a full city block long

By which I mean that it'll loop all the way around the entire block, most likely, sorry that was so unclear. At the last concert I was at there, a friend of mine got in line at 1 p.m. and got right up to the stage in the theater - I'm guessing that for MCR it would require an overnight wait.

Also, other concerts there have had like a little VIP/more expensive ticket option - there's this raised section in house right, it's not on the balcony, but it's its own little thing that at other concerts has been sectioned off. I haven't seen that option on Ticketmaster tho, so I'm guessing they're not doing it.

It's a really good GA venue - one of the best two or three in Manhattan, IMO.

[identity profile] brooklinegirl.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
this is INCREDIBLY helpful! YAY. Thank you SO MUCH. (are you going? \o/? I can't BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING SO SOON AND IN SUCH A GREAT SPOT.) THANK YOU SO MUCH for the GREAT info!

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome! Oh and I am TOTALLY going - I found out about it yesterday and COMPLETELY freaked out and then immediately bought tickets for me and my girlfriend and a friend, and ONLY THEN did I inform them that they were coming to NY that Friday, since they both live out of town, and they were both like OMG ILU. These are the good things that happen when you're dating a fangirl and have spent WEEKS flailing about the new album and everything else - those sort of decisions are very very easy to make. :D

And I cannot BELIEVE I get to see them so soon - it'll be my first MCR concert, and I thought I'd have to wait until their big spring/summer tour. SO SO SO EXCITED.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, this is SO AWESOME AND HELPFUL. Thank you so so much!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I AM SO SO SO EXCITED IT IS UNREAL.

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I am completely freaking out, no lie. I've never seen them before and I was sure I would have to wait until they tour in the spring/summer. Also it's gonna be such a great venue for them, seriously.

*FLAILS LIKE KERMIT AT MY DESK*

And because I am neurotic and cannot edit my comment:

The bench is along House LEFT, not House Right. As someone else commented, standing on Ray's side will likely get you closer - the doors open up into the room on House Left, so that side fills up faster. You walk into the venue from the side - the sound guys are pretty much right in front of you, with the stage to the left. I am sure it's gonna be NUTS.

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
....however if you feel a STRANGE AND INEXPLICABLE NEED to be on the House Left (Stage Right) side of the venue, I WILL UNDERSTAND, HEE. :DDDDD

GOD I LOVE THEM.

[identity profile] swiiftly.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I was wondering if you guys would still be going to Chicago!
But, dude. DUDE. NYC. IN A MONTH. And all this venue information is AWESOME.
I AM REALLY, REALLY EXCITED.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah...no. SAD. But but but - WE GET A YOU, INSTEAD! \o/\o/\o/

[identity profile] jezrana.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
...If you still have one after the 15th, I maaaay be interested. But if someone else wants it before then, don't mind me.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
DUDE WE WILL KEEP YOU IN MIND. *_________*

[identity profile] strobelighted.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. COME TO CHICAGO.

[identity profile] drunktuesdays.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Liz, I've done Roseland too, and the floor is not that bad, although it really should be deeper. Being short definitely comes into play, so head towards Ray's side and try to creep as forward as you can that way. You'll have a better view of the whole stage, and if you can achieve side barrier/whatever, you'll be happier about the pushing and the awful crowding.

Or, honestly, do what we did for Black Cards. show up right on time, head for the bar and hang out in the back and watch them from the distance. It ends happier.

[identity profile] mistresscurvy.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
This is great advice - making your way over to Ray's side is the best bet, since the doors open into the space on Frankie's side.

[identity profile] strangecobwebs.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm kind of old and either want to be right in the front (um, so I have something I can lean on) or in the back so I can actually enjoy the show, you know? I think the latter will be my plan this time...

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, we'll see! I am totally leaning towards trying for STAGE LEFT, if you know what I mean, but we'll see! All I know is there's no way I'm watching from the bar on my first MCR show. *g* LET'S HOPE I DON'T GET SQUISHED.

[identity profile] promisethstars.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I really REALLY wish I was still going to be in Chicago for that show :( Sadly, I will be home for Christmas break, and thus cannot go to the show. Unless I can convince my parents to let me stay... in which case there is a chance that if you still have them I could go. BUT I DON'T KNOW RIGHT NOW *HANDS*

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, that's so sad!! :(( Uhm! Good luck! Maybe you still can? *haaaands*

[identity profile] olivia-circe.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So like five seconds after I posted looking, the ENTIRE INTERNET told me you had Chicago tickets for sale! Fangirls are the best! I am now also going to the New York show, but I would love to take one of the Chicago tickets off your hands, too, if you've still got them! (And if I can make my logistics work out, which I should be able to...I hope. Oh, MCR, the things I do for you!)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
WHEEEEEEEEEE! Emailing you details! \o/

[identity profile] strangecobwebs.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY YAAAAAAAAAY SO MANY FANGIRLS! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELFFFFFFFFFFF!

[identity profile] jadis31.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll see you in NYC :D

As soon as I got the email and saw the NYC show, I thought two things "I shall go to that" (in my best Moses voice) and soon after, "Oh, I should make sure L&T know about it" and then I laughed at my own silliness.

Oh, and where are you staying after? I haven't looked into a room yet, and I wouldn't be opposed to staying at the same hotel as two of my favoritest folks.

And I am so excited for this show.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU MADE MY ENTIRE MONTH! JOJO! OH MY GOD! EMAILING WITH DETAILS! ♥

[identity profile] arsenicjade.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Are these still available? B/c I would LOVE them. Like, this would make my year, you have no idea.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm SO sorry - they both went! :(((((
