To prove the geek in me....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM MACK!
I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. Happy Birthday to our boy!
Because, you know, it's crucial to celebrate a birthday of a fictional character (SHUDDUP, HE WAS REAL!) who's been dead for almost a century (SHUT IT, HIS STILL LIVES WITH DOYLER!!)
YAY! It's JIM MACK day! Also, THE OPENING OF 'AT SWIM' DAY!
Yeah, and some of you might have still harbored the illusion that I've got a life. HA!

BTW, in response to your text: whenever you figure it out is fine. In no rush, you see.

And cool! I'll talk to my mom, if not before she leaves, then definitely after she comes back. :D

it lives!
And I do so enjoy this scenario. Especially about Jim's niece coming to make them some cake, and Doyler helping him down the ladder. The funniest thing about this, I imagine them as boys, only with white Whitman-like beards and bent backs. Hmmm...
Miss you! Mwaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Amen. That was beautiful.

Did you ever find that ASTB mix CD? I discovered the other day that I've still got it on iTunes if you want me to burn you another copy.

And I did find it! It was hiding in my CD burner, which I never use, because it apparently doesn't work. But yes. The precious is still there. Thank GOD. But thank you for the offer! ALthough...what do you mean you 'still' have it? What in the world would happen to it? Hmmm?

Speaking of which, I had the oddest dream - I don't normally describe all my dreams to everyone, just to let you know, but you'll see why this is special - where I ended up in the world of At Swim, in a really odd way, like I was taking people on a tour, and that it actually happened and I was there WHEN it happened, except it looked more like the French Riviera combined with Venice than Sandycove and Dublin, I knew Mr Mack who was STILL ALIVE and a bar owner, which apparently, he had been when it all went down, but at the same time, he WASN'T really Mr Mack, but Jim's father nonetheless, and Jim and Doyler were fictional. But not. So, the strangest part of all is that it's like I met the creator of them who was also involved in the story, but he looked nothing like Jamie O'Neill and Jamie O'Neill existed as a separate entity, and it made a random girl who was with me cry, though she'd never read the book. And I talked about MacEmm, who apparently was also still alive and living in Galway, though the man - Jim's father but not Mr Mack - had heard false rumors that he was killed. But he wasn't. He was living in Galway. He was still in his 30's. It was all very, very odd. And it was very, very sunny. And then I woke up, but before I did, the reenactments of what had happened were being played somewhere on the street and it involved people flying into a horse-drawn carriage and getting shot, and one of the people looked suspiciously like Colin Firth.
All in all, I have a very very fucked up subconscious.
