I feel pretty...oh so pretty...

I went to The Bookstore, and talked to a supervisor. He was all "yeah! we need people!" but the summer jobs technically don't start until the end of June. What they could do is start me off now, and then make me into a seasonal employee. Of course, he added, it might not be totally legal, so they'd have to look into that... Anyway, he said he'd give me a call. He also said it was good seeing me again, which was nice. Awww. So, yes! I WILL have this job! It's a matter of when. If I'm stuck in unemployment this June, I might just fuck all and go to visit my grandparents in Minneapolis then, and not in August.

Before I went there, however, I turned on Spike TV at 3:00pm. Yeah, so I was watching "Highlander." And guess what! [livejournal.com profile] rochefort and [livejournal.com profile] miraminx - it was the one where Methos first comes, I believe. Mmmmm. He's pretty. Now I'll be watching it next week to see if he's still around. He's got a nice neck. The reason I mention only his neck is that, sadly, that's all we got to see (besides the face.) But he looks good in jeans. Because when you don't really care what the show is about, and are just waiting for the promise slashy bits, that's what you look at.

I was walking around, and noticed that they'd added a "magnetic poetry" stand with some words pasted onto it. Somebody had put up "they dream of something-ing" (don't remember what the something was), and I finangled a few things here and there, and finally formed "they dream of impeaching" because "peach" was right there, and it was asking for it. I hope somebody gets a laugh out of that.

Peter O'Toole has pretty eyes.

If you come to Minneapolis, you'd better give me a call, young lady. ;-) We can go out and do a three hour coffee chat again! ::HUGS:: Good luck with the job!

I was planning on it, of course! :-D I was going to tell you as the date got closer, and the plans got more solid. Once I plan everything out, I'll definitely let you know, and I'd love to get together again. Yay!

MWAH!

YAYYYY! I can't wait--we'll have loads of fun, just like last time. :-) Just let me know when you've got your plans sorted and we'll get together for an afternoon!

But but but you can't start til the end of June!

I didn't tell you, the day after I slept at your place we went into your bookstore. Mm, it was so nice. I would love to work there.

My friends always made my magnetic poetry say naughty things. It was like a game, last year we had some words on our refrigerator and every time someone walked by it we'd change it into the naughtiest thing we could think of. Ah, those were the days.

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2004-05-29 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, you liked it? Yay! It's wonderful, isn't it? And so many, MANY books... *sigh*

But but but you can't start til the end of June!

Well, if ya tell me when you're coming, I can take those days off. :-P

I love playing around with magnetic poetry. Once, the NYGALs made up a whole (rahter filthy) R/S poem on [livejournal.com profile] cokerry's fridge. I remember there was something about a pole and a blow job...

MWAH!

Come and visit Minneapolis, dude! You can hang out with Leah (Carleton97) and Brenna (Lallybroch) and me! All of us are Minneapolitans! Fun!

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2004-05-29 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
I want to! I'll definitely let you all know when I'm coming. It does sound fun! Yay!

Hooray! Bookshop jobs are good. Money, escape from parents' house and interesting place to spend the day, all in one big package.

And Methos too! That was a good day. But

it was the one where Methos first comes

Lucky you. Now that's something I really would have given a lot to see....

Sorry. The man can reduce me to the mentality of a slobbering adolescent quicker than you can say 'Guh'. He does look good in jeans and yes, his neck is beautiful.

And Peter O'Toole! Of course, now the life he's lived is written on his face; but when he was younger... You must, must, if you haven't already, see Lawrence of Arabia. The first time I saw it, I spent the entire three hours with my mouth hanging open. The man was so, so beautiful.

Money, escape from parents' house and interesting place to spend the day, all in one big package.

Precisely! I'm just glad they want me back. Yay!

Lucky you. Now that's something I really would have given a lot to see....

You're a filthy, filthy person, which is one of the reasons I love so, of course. The way he looks in jeans is how every man should look in jeans. I can't quite describe it, but there's something about the shape of the fall of the pant legs, and the shape of the legs, and I'll really shut up now, before I make a total fool of myself. The reason I mentioned the neck, too, was that when he told Duncan to kill him, his neck was exposed for quite some time. Mmmmmm...

When Peter O'Toole was younger, he was unbelievably beautiful. I am ashamed to say, but I haven't see LoA. I really really should. Have you ever seen "How To Steal A Million"? That's where I first saw him. Those blue eyes are just magnificent. Him and Audrey Hepburn together. Pretty priceless.

I know what you mean about the jeans thing, although I don't think I could begin to define it. But PW has definitely got it. Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Joe Strummer all had it as well, except their jeans were tighter. Not that I'm complaining. It all helped make the Clash so pleasant to look at.

I've never seen 'How to Steal a Million', but Audrey Hepburn was just gorgeous. I used to want to look like her in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', but everything about me is as different from her as could be. You could do that look, though!

And look who's back! Sadly I seem to have lost the later Jim icon you made me, but I still love this one.

Mwah!!

Aww, Jim!

[identity profile] mrsronweasley.livejournal.com 2004-05-29 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
His return made me smile. Yay! I could make you another one, if you'd like. I've become a bit more proficient with Photoshop as of late...

I know what you mean about the jeans thing, although I don't think I could begin to define it.

Yeah, it's just nice, isn't it? I imagine Sirius looking like that in jeans. Ahem. Tight jeans are not a problem when the legs are nice. I wouldn't recommend them for, say, B.B. King, but Joe Strummer - oh yes. Mmmmm... Sorry. Jeans are a weakness of mine. My university suddenly for an influx of really hot guys in jeans who look like that. It was sort of distracting.

Audrey Hepburn is so beautiful, I don't quite believe she was human. My sister, incidentally, once had a haircut that made her look a lot like Audrey Hepburn - they have a similar nose, and eyes. And they're both very slender. I don't think I could quite pull it off, but I appreciate the thought. :-P "How To Steal A Million" isn't a terrific film, but it's fun, and funny, and Peter O'Tool and Audrey Hepburn both look amazing. In "Breakfast at Tiffany's" she is simple gorgeous beyond belief. *sigh*

Mwah! :D

Just chiming in here to say "Oh hell yeah" to PW in jeans, and to men who can pull off that look in general. It's the long, lean legs and the tight butt. Preferably the jeans should be Levis 501s, which I understand are unfashionable now, but I say "pbbffft!" to that.

Nothing against tight jeans here, either, probably because when I grew up (yes, we did have electricity then. Shut UP) people with decent bodies showed them off in close-fitting clothes rather than slouching about in jeans that were so ridiculously oversized that they slid down to reveal invariably unattractive underwear.

And why have I veered off into this fashion rant? Oh yeah-- see "Lawrence of Arabia" because not only do you get the delectable Peter O'Toole, you get a young and rather yummy Omar Sharif and lots of very slashy bits.

Not only do you recognise and appreciate, you've actually sat down and analysed, too, right down to the specific type of jeans. I'm very impressed.

You're right, I should have mentioned LoA is very slashy in some places. And a bit kinky in others.

Surprisingly enough, that was my first reaction, too.

I thought it might be. You can join me in my slobbering adolescenthood.
