Waltzing Matilda
Jun. 3rd, 2004 12:20 amI actually spent most of the day away from the computer. In fact! It was...dun-dun-dun! - out of the house. Late last night I got a call from a friend that I didn't get to see last weekend because she was out of town at her brother's wedding, but she was going through Boston, and so we met up today. And it was good. Of course.
I got a haircut. Again.
We watched "Like Water for Chocolate" on Bravo today. I liked it, but I was ready to spear the mother by the end of it. "DIE BITCH, DIE!! Even if you're ALREADY DEAD, DIE AGAIN MORE PAINFULLY!!" Seriously. With a mother like that, who the hell needs Bush?! Although the ending - worthy of Gabriel Garcia Marquez - confused and saddened me, and the main love interest was a dumb dipshit. But other than that, I liked it. (Especially the naked chick running through the field. That was particularly nice.)
I found out that my old high school has deteriorated greatly, the number of fights has gone through the roof (and it used to be pretty fucking low), and a lot more racism is getting to the surface. This is suprising, seeing as how when I went there, it was one of the most granola-ist places ever, and racism was not only condemned, it rarely showed its face ever, as far as I remember. This just further proves that the 90's really are over, and that our kindly leader has helped bring about regression in full force, bringing out the mindless bigotry in so many of our young and hopeful future leaders.
Bah. I need to go to sleep until I get angry again.
*grumbles off*
