Holy blackout, batman.
Jun. 4th, 2004 02:01 pmSo, I woke up this morning to no electricity. And no hot water. The only link with the outside world was my cell phone, because the other phones weren't working. There was no light. There was no shower. There was no tea, there was no toast. The fridge was slowly defrosting. And, need I mention the lack of the computer and the TV? I felt like I'd entered the Middle Ages, of course, which is why I started reading Mary Stewart's "The Crystal Cave" which came in the mail yesterday. It was kind of interesting, to not be able to do much except lounge around and read. Obviously, it's all back to normal now, but what an interesting couple of hours it was. I'm still debating as to whether or not I should go out or stay in. It feels like a useless day, because I meant to get a lot of things done early, but couldn't because of the little black-out.
The interesting thing is that for some strange reason, we have all the premium channels now. My mom says it happens every now and then, but I definitely wasn't expecting to turn on the TV and find a naked girl sticking a dildo in another. And, no, I didn't enjoy it. Straight up porn is not my thing. Bleargh.
I feel like I got up on the wrong side of the bed. I'm grumpy and pissy. I think I will go out, if only to air myself out. Sorry about this.
