And this totally made my morning: I picked up The Metro on my way to the train, and the first thing I saw when I opened up the Entertainment section was a picture of Shane MacGowan. I did a double and triple take, and it was still there. Still ugly as hell, holding a drink and wearing an awful scarf. I nearly did Paul Gross Arms. There was an article about the Christmas songs you won't get on the radio, and of course, they mentioned "Fairytale of New York", and just when I thought it wouldn't get better, they done and mentioned "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis" right above The Pogues - Tom Waits and Shane MacGowan all in one place. Clearly, somebody was thinking of me and
cabari there. *sends love to New Jersey*
(Here's what the Tom Waits bit said: "No one can make the underbelly of life as touching and universal as Tom Waits." *bursts with undying love*)
And then, in the news section, there was a whole spread on the assasination of Alexander Litvinenko and the whole history of KGB/FSB and wow:
(on spy assasinations):
"But if you're looking for creativity, Russians are always the best. Russians have plenty of special weapons created just for them. They have huge experience eliminating enemies in the most creative ways."
My homeland, everyone.
*sigh*
In OTHER not so good news, I think I'm still blocked in terms of writing. At least, I hope that's what this inability to write is. *pokes it* Seriously, I've lost my mojo. Help. Dry as the Sahara.
Oh God, just got a call from parents, asking me if my mom can make temporary use of my laptop. Um. NO. I have about twenty tabs open with all sorts of porn to read. And my LJ. And my email. And did I mention NO? I hate doing this to her, because I know it can be annoying not being able to use a computer? But she'll get over not using it. I'm not sure I'll get over her using it. *shudders*
